Recommend an ALBUM for Prince!

We all know he visits the org. We ALL KNOW it.
We all know that his 'crew' visits the org too.

I think they propbably laugh their arses off at half
the shit they see us post, honestly, but there's probably
an equal amount of revulsion.

But Prince himself has admitted to not listening to
much music outside of his own. He once said that if he
wanted to hear new music, he just created it.

I find this approach to be a bit limiting, even for a genius
such as Prince. Even Mozart listenned to and did variations
of other composer's music from time to time.

Listening to other music is important.

Now, I know Prince's statement is false and that he's probably
just telling another one of his seemingly endless lies to
the media; however, let's pretend that Prince really does
need to expand his musical influences.

What would you recommend Prince lend his ear to. Not
just for a casual listen, but to fully absorb and 'get' the way
that you do or the way their fans do?

My recommendations:

Chromeo - Anything by them actually. Prince could outdo these guys easily if he wanted to.

Kaizers Orchestra: "Ompa til du dør" or anything by that band.

... now there's a new angle in how to be funky.

Yeah, it's white, Scandinavian and all, but imagine what Prince could do with that way constructing music. And no, I have NO effing idea what the lead singer is singing.

he should listen to albums produced by nigel godrich, like most of
radiohead's stuff.

then he should let his guard down for a few months and allow him
to produced his next album.

lol. that's a matter of oppinion, but i didn't mean he has to make
the music radiohead does, not at all.

i meant the production values of nigel. he's also produced beck's
"sea change" and paul mccartney's "chaos & creation in the backyard"
and several other awesome albums. he's the best producer on the
planet since about 10 years imo.

prince needs to keep making his own music, there's nothing wrong
with that. he's proved himself up, above and beyond but lately
his production just seems to have lost all life. a good producer
could work WITH him and give his music a new depth that has been
lacking for a while.

having said that, i think the production on the Lotusflower title
disc is just fine and totally suiting. however, i'd just be very
excited to hear what prince and nigel, bouncing ideas off one
another would come up with.

He should listen to Black Summer's Night by Maxwell to figure out how you can disappear for years yet come back strong and have your fans love you even more.

I've already recommended a CD for Prince to check out. But after the last two songs he's released, I'm really regretting my decision.

If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.
