Has anybody bought (or heard) the NPG/Gold Nigga album?

If so does Prince singing on it at all. or is it just Tony M rapping?

he sings on it some, notably Johnny & Black M.F. In The House.

this person might possibly spend a lot of money on this. let's not play this trick on him.

I love the jams, but the rapping ruins a lot of it IMO.

the MUSIC on this is quite outstanding. i love all those music tracks.
the vocals, on the other hand (most of it rapping by Tony M) leave a
lot to be desired.

think about a whole album with the kind of jughead/daddy pop raps he
did on prince's diamonds n pearls.

still, these are all prince compositions and the playing is excellent.
if only for the music, it's worthy of owning. tho i would not spend a
whole lot of money on it either.
and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

If only there was some sort of Tony M filter software, this would make an excellent instrumental album. It'd be like the Madhouse Funk Division!

It's Prince and the band, just like the other new NPG albums.

except there's less Prince on it than the other two.

and even aside from having fewer Prince vocals than the other two, my understanding is that this was mostly helmed by Levi.

There's less Prince vocally, but Prince is all over it. It's the lowest on my NPG album list, with #1 being Exodus, and #2 being NewPowerSoul

Remember there are two versions, one had to remove a song due to its illegal paul mccartney sample.

Unless you like Tony M. and RnB with a serious hip hop vibe, you might not want to invest much $$ in this one. I would track it down by "other means" and decide for yourself before buying. It's definitely out there. GoldNi**a lovers will argue this one, but I'd say the majority of those on the org would place The Exodus as the best of the three NPG albums (in my opinion, The Exodus is by far the best).

If you like the band sound of the prince album, you will like this. It's Tony M all over it, a couple of instrumentals and a little bit of Prince on vocals. The band sound is what makes it though.

I didn't know this?
What sample was it and for what song?

Wasn't it to do with the 'somebodys knocking on the door' lyric, rather than a sample or am I misremembering?

All opinions about the music aside, the OP should be aware that counterfeit copies of this CD are being sold at alarming prices on sites like eBay and iOffer.

Do your homework before purchasing.

There were two authorized configurations sold at the NPG stores and online. A 16-track version and a 15-track version minus Guess Who's Knockin' (because of the above mentioned lyrical lift from "Let 'Em In"). An EP CD of 2Gether was also part of this project. The counterfeit will usually include the EP tracks on the disc - which was never a real configuration of Goldnigga.

A person might be inclined to download the songs first to see if it's their cup of tea before purchasing a real copy on the used market. That person shouldn't ask here where those downloads can be had.
If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.
