Prince in the Mix: The DJ Speaks...

hi jon,

thanx 4 the compliment, glad you like it.

the mix you have took me about 3 months to make, including sorting out which
tracks to use, which is the most important thing really, using trax that
really fit.

as you might have noticed i always mix in key, or if not possible, create a
break between 2 different cords., for example feel u up vs. d.m.s.r.

so, 2 be honest , i don't think i can top this mix, if only maybe in terms
of quality and adding xtra tracks made after 2001 (the year this mix has
been made)

and well, even my biggest mix hero ben liebrand is a fan of it, he
broadcasted the mix on national radio earlier this year.

so, every effort in making it a perfect mix has been done, i do make other
mixes, but no other prince related stuff. sure, i got some ideas for a small
bonus mix of trax who didn't fit into this one, but that would be nothing
compared to the one i did, so i better not (for this moment)

enjoy the mix, and please, do me a favour will you, share!!!!

cheers, foefur

There's the original mix and a newer mix as well.

Others might have views and information they will want to contribute here still.

Just thought these might be helpful for background.

It's been out for eons, and I think it was updated once. It's good, but REALLY long for me. I can take it in doses now, instead of in full. But it's a very well thought out and clever mix.

Here's the deal - it's an unauthorized recording (looking at the above links would have educated you to this), so you can't ask in these open forums where to find it or for someone to orgnote you. You can certainly ask for the whereabouts of authorized products, whether they are out of print or not.

It's a simple rule and helps keep the org from going the way of Housequake.

There are a lot of mega-mixes that are NOT unauthorized. There were made available on lables and sold in DJ wrecka stows... Some were Hot Tracks, Ultimix, and Razormade... Try to find these, they may help you in your quest.

I love listening to this mix when I'm on the treadmill. It's got a good paced, steady beat throughout and is fun to walk to. It doesn't get boring since there's so many different songs and with the length, it helps me walk further without really thinking about it.

I agree. It was partially the inspiration for me making the same type of mixes for the gym. I've done about 8 so far of either various artists, or one artist's club mixes (like Mariah, or Madonna's).

yeah, but mariah and madonna have really clubmixes, you can mix them together, but Prince never had them, apart from a few songs..that's why i think the Foerfur mix is really clever
