Invariably at most Prince concerts, Prince will say things in the moment that you have heard a thousand times before, and sometimes I just want to scream when he says it. Like "on the 1", "say what", "Say Maceo Blow your horn", "Hey Larry". Just for fun anybody else got any comments in concert Prince says that has become cliche?

What are we bitching about now? Seriously, so you are at a Prince show. He says, "On the one." And if we look at you, we would see an annoyed exasperated look on your face? Wow. Way to wreck the mood.

I can't say that I've ever been annoyed @ a show. I was too busy freaking out that I was seeing Prince perform LIVE!

I hate when he says, "Ya'll sing!" because I don't want to hear the audience sing anything.

Oh God I only wish I could be at one Prince concert in my life. Even though I watch videos and get bored with the "Oww-oo-oww" call and response on stuff like Let's Go Crazy, if I had the chance to see him live just once, I wouldn't have one complaint.

what's wrong with "on the one"?

he's just giving the band some instructions. you know he just goes
wherever he wants on stage and stretches songs out on the spot, so
the band has to have some clue as to when to break it down or when
renato or someone can take an extra solo.

The only thing that annoys me about Prince during a concert is when he shows up to a concert 3hrs late like he did in Indianapolis in 98"...and the concert didn't really jump off until he sung "Let's Work" and "Delirious". I have seen him 4 times since 97" and the 98" concert was probably not one of his greatest, but I was glad I was there.

When he got on that "stauros" crap. "Suppose someone lied about the way someone died". He took a great spirtual song, and almost ruined it.

I think the OP kinda misses the point (for me)...

You know, when he says "on the one" or "gimme 2 y'all", and then you get that BAM-BAM... Now THAT'S exactly what makes a live show worth spending money on.
