made him more money than if it had been distributed regularly. Pretty savvy move and it did reach a wider audience. [Edited 3/17/10 10:14am] blah blah blah

But new fans should not start that way. The whole climate is different. It's evil. it's a parallel dimension for the lovers of the copy . . .

Well, I was watching Ne-Yos top 20 countdown on BET and he picked alotta Prince stuff. I think "When Doves Cry" and "Little Red Corvette" won me over. That was in '07. Do Me Baby was the sealed deal. Then the purple rain movie and song was the icing on the cake. Then I kinda stopped listening 2 him 4 a while. But just recently i started gettin back in 2 him.
i think he has a very interesting personality and it's hard to imagine him doing anything that normal people do which adds mystery to him.I'd love 2 meet him one day and any musician who captivates me longer for longer than 5 minutes is somebody special. April usually brings showers
This time it was a hurtin' kind This woman said she wanted my baby I told her I'd have 2 be deaf, dumb, and blind

I wouldn’t of bought any of his music before because I hadn’t heard of him much but by getting this free one, I went out and bought nearly all of his albums.

I did back in the day and he'd only had 8 or 9 albums out... That's before I found out about the unreleased stuff! blah blah blah

My ex introduced me to Prince when he selected his 'Hits & B-sides' as a soundtract to our lovemaking ))
The guy is now history, but Prince is here to stay. I think Erotic City was THE song

The thing that’s different with prince’s music is that its always different. He always seems to have more he can offer to his fan’s, in the style of his music.

I started listening to Prince's music and completely fell in love with it. I think "Raspberry Beret" was the song that was the first song I heard from him.
I am so glad to hear that there are younger fans! My son is 21 and I won him over to Prince when I started listening to P's music after not doing so for 15 years. One of my son's fav songs now is "Let's Go Crazy" on his new Ipod. But, I gotta say, after not hearing P's songs since the 90s, his music sound fresh to me, and I like many of his new songs as well as the old! He still has more to give us that is good! Thats awesome. Yes, there are some younger fams. But I don't know of many. I am the only one in my age group that I associate with. I get disappointed sometimes though because my mom grew up in the 80s. I mean, I wish I got to grow up in the 80s. Some of the best movies and music came out in that era. I get to grow up in the generation with people who don't sing about meaningful things. Much less, most artists can't hardly even sing now anyways. Their voices are altered.

I think I've successfully created my first Prince convert after 19 years of trying.
Kid that works for me. I think I've made him a fan. Just by playing it. He's 25 and used to listen exclusively to rap and urban r&b. Over the last year we've gotten pretty close and, me being me, I play whatever the hell I want when I want. Broke him in on MJ, Beatles, Stones, etc. Finally, I've entered into a Prince phase again and he loves it. It's weird. So I did an experiment with him, considering the kind of musical interests he has normally. Played him some of Prince's contemporary R&B-pandering tracks from the last decade or so. He loves Incense & Candles. And he makes me listen to it. And he loves Mr. Goodnight (but I do too).
