new direction last night i watch the new lady gaga/beyonce video "telephone"and i gotta admit it was a well thought out video good storyline and ending.so i got to thinking how would prince fair in a video with a good storyline and ending produced by the sane team that did "telephone"
heres my idea the video starts in paisley park where prince is deciding what direction he wants to go musically with this new song(you see him fighting between good(the prince were currently seeing now) or evil the real prince(80's version come back)so he decides to split the personalities in half and that when the video takes off..some cgi, fast editing..etc... the song will definitelty be a killer track, with a new band(more funkier than ever)tighter melodies and of course great guitar riffs.. having said all this i just feel a full blown video plus a great killer track leads him back into 2010 just in time 4 the summer....(any thoughts on this?)

Telephone's video wears out its welcome after one watch. I hate videos that interrupt the song on a constant basis. Eff that noise.
As for your video, well... pass.

prince has never seemed all that interested in videos. he seems to make one
for almost every song he records, if you have to believe rumours. but if you look at his collected vids, he only started making some videos with an actual tight visual concept in the late 90s. most of his vids are just performance videos, wether they are actual stage shots or a performance set in a loose 'concept' video. i like it when he does do a great video, like "i wish u heaven" or even a later one like "the greatest romance". but i don't see it happening anytime soon, prince heading off in some new and weird visual direction. if anything, he's becoming more 'standard' in his approach. he's definately more 'classy/chic" these days and quite calm and grown up. it would be nice to see him in something totally mindblowing but i just can't see it happening. "box o chocolates" had a cool feel to it but the video on itself is just lame lame lame. which makes me love the "crimson & clover" video more since it's just some basic stuff with a few psychedelic effects and nice shots. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

I remember when 7 was nominated for some kinda video award. Not sure if he won or not. I mean, its a great video, but it wasnt really that extravegant. But it just goes to show you what more he could have accomplished in his career had he put more time and production into his videos. No doubt he would have had even more hits, or stronger hits. Thats one thing that seperated him from MJ.
