I just bought The Black Album on Vinyl...does anyone know if it has any value...its from 1988 and it says Erotic City Records and there is no "rights reserved" stuff on it and on the album cover there is a older picture of Prince on it ya know if you look at the reflectoion cause its a shiny black image on a matte black back ground...any info would be nice thanX!

That's clearly a boot and has no real value besides sentimental value to Prince fans.

I believe you have an original, I have seen that cover before. I met a girl once back in 1989 who said she was a roadie for prince and she had the Black album on vinyl. You know I took her straight to my house and recorded it on to cassette. I don't know if she was telling the truth about being a roadie for him but she had the album. I can also tell you that I remember seeing the shiny part, prince has short hair and a turned up collar. I would hold on to it.

I also have a couple of those Black Albums (vinyl) on Erotic City Records.The cover is black,and there is a shot from the 1986 'Cherry Moon' era.It is a bootleg.


I bought each album for around $25 back in the early 90s.

I have it also. It was $8.oo in N.Y.

there is also a version of that bootleg with the pic from the U Got the Look 12'. It is the same shiny black on black and prince's face covers the LP cover. same erotic city records...etc.

so it is an original boot before the acctual release???
