Treasures....

I know alot of you probably have some really cool Prince memorabilia...
what is your most treasured piece in your collection? and why....
Is there any story behind it that makes it special to you?
Is it a rare item?

Most are some rare Prince live concert CDs. A recent one is a very rare P poster that I just bought... Can't wait to hang it on my wall. By the way, my wall isn't covered with Prince posters and photos! NOT a shrine. I just really like this Prince album cover and got hold of a rare poster--nice addition to the other non-P prints and posters hanging up! wink

By the way, another "treasure" are recent songs from P's 2006 album that I am listening to for the second time from 3121. I like most of the songs but there are two that absolutely grab me, and I'm a fan from 1980; the two songs are "The Dance" and "Get On The Boat." I had to play them both again! The lyrics and music from "The Dance" are sensual and heartfelt IMO and the James Brown syncopation and horns on "Get On The Boat" make me want to get up and dance! That was only 4 years ago! How can people say P has lost his groove and ability to be emotionally/spiritually evocative?! NOT! biggrin

My is my first album, on vinyl, ARTWIAD. The only one I ever bought on vinyl and I still gave it. One of these days I'm gonna mount it and hang it. There is a story behind it (boring though it is) but it's too much (and too boring) to post.
Christopher damn!

I'm quite proud of my Madhouse 16 CD I found about 15 years ago in a second hand shop in York. As new, not punched... £6 smile

I've also got Hot Thing as a promo single, Drive Me Wild as a promo 12" and that weird wooden paisley case holding a CD of Diamonds & Pearls (and some fake Diamonds and Pearls). Oh and that weird Get Wild 12" that plays from the inside out. Freaky.

Nothing really of value, but they were just nice finds at the time.

Nice finds..
im not sure if "that weird wooden paisley case holding a CD of Diamonds & Pearls" was actually an official release though.
Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!
woot!

My most treasured piece is this tambourine Prince handed me at Mayte's 21st birthday party at Paisley Park in Nov. 12, 1994. He did a small concert for about 50 people, Eric Leeds and Levi Seacer guested.

A close second would be a picture of Prince I took at Rosemont Horizon in Chicago on the Lovesexy tour. He was arriving at the arena mid afternnon. I'm not showing the pic, but these are leading up to it.

The cover was pretty beat up on that Brazilian promo when I bought it. The signature was already on there. I assume it is from whoever owned it before me. I still bought it because I don't know if I'll ever see another one.
