wow! they're playing madhouse now, wasn't expecting that - thought the documentary would be pretty much be targeted at non-fans and only play well-known stuff.

i've never heard madhouse before, it sounds amazing, i must get those albums, shame there so f***ing expensive to get hold of.

LondonGuy

I reckon this is a fairly general documentary for the non-fam...

most of his popular songs were played and Mica Paris talked a lot of crap...

The only bit worth commenting on was the live version of Strange Relationship...

Will not bother with next weeks show...waste of time..

Ouch, Nelson George loses his "Prince Authority" credibility for saying on Dirty Mind tour P kissed "Wendy on keyboards".

Interesting Jimmy Jam rates him as best rhythm guitarist of all time.

I believe the testimonies (on the whole) were culled from interviews for the "I Love 1985" BBC2 documentary segment.

I agree, Essence... Some of the quotes are recycled.

Pretty good show though!

I've been pronouncing Mica wrong all these years! I thought it was "Meeka"...

It would be nice if someone could post the link.

Freaker

It was very interesting and positive, with very informative info from the closest people to him.
I wonder where they got the Madhouse album sample, maybe from one of the contributors?

I thought this special was great!
-Jimmy Jam saying that "The time
kicked Prince's ass" most nights of the 1999 tour!
-Dr. Fink & Eric Leeds talking about rehearsals
& recording sessions
-Susan Rogers talking about Prince recording the
vocal track of If I Was Your girlfriend
-It was great hearing songs like DMSR & Lady
Cab Driver on a radio show.
-The Madhouse clip was really cool! Eric Leeds
tells the story of Prince up all night recording
all of the intruments on the Madhouse songs
himself and calling Eric into the studio in the
middle of the night to record his sax on to it.
Good shit!

The funniest part to me was when Jimmy Jam said when he first met Prince, they could have sworn he was 6 feet tall because they wore platform shoes and he had a huge afro.
