the way he arranged it during the O2 shows was beautiful.

plus, the guitar playing on it is superbly vintage prince

and if he doesn't release a version with himself on vox
perhaps he will include it on shelby's solo album?

the tone of his guitar on those solo's reminds me a lot of
the solo on "just my imagination" from small club.

yes, yes, i know, nothing beats that, but i'm just saying
the depth and warmth of the guitar sounds so fcking good.

I actually never heard it....but i did take interest in the original afterwards and the song became one of my favorite songs of the last decade. Good choice of Prince to cover this song.

It just sounds like (to me) he looked up the basic chords for the song, the band sits on those basic chords and he adds the usual heavy handed guitar solo over the top at the end. Same thing with the Radiohead cover.

I was there too...What an amazing night it was....That was the first time I saw Prince up close; I just couldn't believe my eyes. It was just so incredible from start (1:30am) to finish (4:15am). When the curtains drew back & there was Prince with Amy, everyone just couldn't believe it. Prince ended the opening moment by telling us that she's a great talent & that we should look after her, or something along those lines...I just wish the book could have captured all those great live moments from the O2 instead of all that Prince/ band posing...

I heard it at least twice during the o2 shows. The final night with amy winehouse and also from the 6th September aftershow with shelby j singing. Sure it was played other times too. Great track and a real surprise to see amy there singing it with him. When he was soloing she was looking at him, seemingly in awe, I'd say she was a little starstruck.

Was actually listening to the indigo shows from the 6th and 21st September earlier. "The summer that changed everything". Great times.

I love this song. Shelby's vocals.
