Has a Prince song ever.... Years ago, there was this television commercial for Perugina chocolates. The music sounded a lot like "Let's Pretend We're Married." I used to wonder if it was just a coincidence, or whether someone was intentionally biting Prince's sound? Or, maybe it was Prince!
Anyway, I'm curious. Has a Prince song ever been used in a commercial to sell a product?

.>hello operator, can you give me number 9? can i see you later? can you give me back my dime?<.

I've still never seen the Tina Turner version of his song for a commercial, and I still haven't seen concrete evidence he wrote that damn Pepsi jingle. This post not for the wimp contingent. All whiny wusses avert your eyes.

I've messed around with jingles while playing piano too, but I've never written one. Every time this comes up it has Urban Legend written all over it to me. This post not for the wimp contingent. All musicians have the tape running when they're messing around, I didn't say he sat around and recorded jingles. Just because it's on tape doesn't mean he's the songwriter. During that very time you mentioned the ad was already on tv too. I've been hearing the same evidence from the same Prince fans for several years, funny thing is, none of the evidence seems like proof he's the author, and not only that, it's only among hardcore Prince fans that I hear about him being the author and being paid handsomely for it. Why is that? [This message was edited Sun Jan 19 1:21:37 PST 2003 by Supernova] This post not for the wimp contingent. All whiny wusses avert your eyes.

Stones Who Madonna MJ Beatles Zeppelin etc Those are lame examples...they are SO UNDERSTATED unlike the BLATANT artists I mentioned. If anything he has tried to "cash" in by offering tracks to so-called chart toppers. Which is the best way since most of those songs are too common for him to use. Except for "Baby You're a Trip"-- the fool should've kept that one.
