wayyyyy too many missing the point here!, take off the purple tinted glasses - this is a case of what he could have been rather than what he has become. In that performance he was fearless and peerless!,be honest with yourselves he has shot his load. P is still a truly great musician and great live BUT the P Lite thing has lasted too long now for it to be a phase before the return of the good stuff. His head is just too lost. Like I said R.I.P. bad ass and thanks for the memories.

And btw, he's 50 and something..it's called "getting old".

What's sad is people pining over shit from 30 years ago. Its kid of pathetic. Maybe because of th e super negro syndrome folks are infected with. I mean its ok to appreciate the past and play old music (form any artists ) but to make specific posts about "I hearby declare..." is pathetic lol. I mean this dudes heyday was 20 years ago. Nothing wrong with being fans and still talking about a band and such but basically we are disucssing him as if he were relevant. He isn't. That's not a diss either. Im just sayin'. Its akin to proclaiming " Mick Jagger..your new music ait got shit on Sticky Fingers!! Oh how I remember when you did Miss You in 1978. Now? You're tired and the new stuff blows!"..I mean, no shit.

Yep...that super negro thread was worthless. Now all the fams are gonna be like "racism!" if you don't cop to loving nowadays Jehovah's Witness milquetoast Prince.

You know what? 79-89 is the Prince music that I like. There aint no shame in that. It's OK to come to the org and celebrate it. It's also OK to come to then org and wonder outloud how a great artist could have fallen so hard and far from his best work. Even if Prince had never made all that early music, I'd still think Silver and Gold was utter crap. It's like Prince went from being Prince to being Dennis DeYoung, or some shit. Disappointing and strange!

That's YOUR opinion! P has released so much good music since 1989. I don't know how old you are, but people grow up and their perspective on life changes. Prince is no exception.

That's absolutely correct. It IS my opinion. Prince may have grown up, but I don't identify with his new output. I just think it's bad. Nothing wrong with having and stating an opinion.

The America video is practically the reason I love Prince. That arrangement is so awesome!

I will say what I do love about new Prince is his live focus on Rythm guitar playing. He's such a bad ass rythm player.

Yes...how sad. They should study Spinoza's ethics philosophy instead of music.
He believed that when other's set out to harm others they were in fact intent on harming themselves. When you think of the effect their angry moaning words always have on their moods, their lives must be rather dull. lol

Well the big assed complainers here and abroad have and have had serious issues in their past. I know this for a fact about some. So because of these issues, their failed parents, or what have you, their vitriol is focused on other things such as people, prince, or what have you. When you think about if fomr that aspect, it's quite a fascinating human study.

I totally agree with you that the America video is greatness, however, I prefer P's later arrangements. To me, since 2004, P's arrangements are so much better than they were previously. Not saying the older ones are bad, but the newer ones (for the most part) are on another level.
