The song "Under the Cherry Moon"

I love this song sooo much!I dont know if its the lyrics or the music itself... but just when I listen too it how it flows . So what do you all think? Do you love this song? why?

Showing some love to the Parade Album!!!

How can I stand 2 stay where I am?
Poor butterfly who don't understand
Why can't I fly away in a special sky?
If I don't find my destiny soon,
I'll die in your arms under the cherry moon

I want to live life to the ultimate high
Maybe I'll die young like heroes die
Maybe I'll kiss u some wild special way
If nobody kills me or thrills me soon,
I'll die in your arms under the cherry moon

If that's alright

Lovers like us dear are born 2 die
If they don't find us what will we do?
I guess we'll make love under the cherry moon

perfect song. my fav part is the "and that's alright" bit after the
second chorus. the way he skips on the piano at that point is just
utter magic.

love

It's definitely one of his most unique compositions. Makes great use of diminished chords, chromatically decending triads, and some interesting harmonies. His jazz-pianist father is also listed as a co-composer - I've always wondered how much input he had in regards to this.

It's definitely one of my favorites. I can't think of a better description than hauntingly beautiful. And it's one of the few Prince songs I can sing and actually sound pretty good. smile

Great song definitely the center of the Parade album interms of vibe...The Parade album had a world of its own...Clare Fisher added to the color and overall feel of the album as well...

Great song. An Israeli artist did a cover in Hebrew that worked really well - the title translated as "Under a Berry Moon: lol

The whole album is great and this song with it's catchy beat, simple yet questioning deep lyrics, gets under your skin quickly. The movie wasn't bad either, ableit predictable but wow, it's an old movie now. The black and white idea was it's strongest element besides the music. Musicians shouldn't act though, it just never seems real when they do it.
