My bad didn't mean to rain on your parade but i didn't want it twisted... the point of this thread was not to make fun at the expense of any cultural group but only to highlight those times where Prince has signified on/played off of/engaged cultural chauvanistic notions.

Lookin back at the thread now I guess folks could take it either way.

i find nothing wrong with this thread at all...i think it's funny...again my thread wasn't meant to be at anyones expense either... i just think that when certain ppl use certain expressions it sounds a little silly...but i was only joking

i'm white and i can't clap on the 2 and 4. i am always out of sync. i continue to try to figure out the technique.lol On the other hand if the band is playing with the Prettyman i can't stop dancing and i never miss a beat.

I've always thought of Prince as this brother with a very utopian outlook on life. Like, if "Uptown" existed it would be a place that would be all about being free regardless of race and what not. I bet it'd be okay if you couldn't "clap yo hands on the now" just as long as you had a funky good time. smile
