I know that a original Black album was auctioned off for $13,000.00. So i'd have to go with the Black Album being the most precious. Even Warners only printed 1,000,000 copies when they pressed CDs. i haven't come across one of those since they were released. When go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all up in the house but when log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

Those are rare. Well the good thing was the money I made from those and other goodies from that garage sale - pretty much paid for most of the Prince 'product' I had ever bought in the past and the future so thanks Prince ! your product pays for itself ! databank said: optimus said: is there any albums with the full 12 inch versions of singles and b-sides?
no there's none. the rarest would indeed be the original pre-destruction Black Album or Undertaker for the unreleased ones, with maybe Milk & Honey, too. for the released ones i'd say the 1st pressing of Goldnigga and possibly the Kamasutra CD & the War cassette, too. now there are also a lot of really rare promo singles. . [Edited 3/2/10 15:48pm] I have the war Cassette, still sealed I bought it in 1997 in Miami. [Edited 3/7/10 19:31pm]

It's not a FACT: it was reported that Prince said in an interview (when? where? I'm quite surprised any journalist would ask him such a question) that he didn't play on it. But Prince says a lot of things and the why & how of why he would have been credited if he didn't play on it is a mystery, so unless Sonny T. says something about it we'll never know 4 sure. [Edited 3/2/10 13:57pm] How did you know about Mauritius post office stamp, I am a stamp dealer and can assure its very scarce, the most scarce version is the Two pence (The one penny was a bit less scarce). They were used on party invitations in 1847 and only 6 examples exist. All were shown at the 1980 Zeapex exhibition here in Auckland. So what are u going 2 do? R u just gonna sit there and watch? how rare is that pressing of "If I Love U 2Nite" that mistakenly included Prince's original studio recording instead of Mica Paris' version? I really have no idea? I think it was on the b-side accidentally instead of a remix. or something.

I've never seen it, but there indeed seem to exist a very rare promo maxi-single of Mica Paris' version (sometimes said to be a Stand For Love EP, sometimes said to be a If I Love U 2Nite maxi) with Prince's original version on the b-side. No one seems to know if this version was released with Mica Paris', Fourth & Broadway/Island's, Prince's and Warner's agreement or if, as it was rumored, it had been "illegally" made by an insider at Fourth & Broadway/Island (therefore making it only half a bootleg, since it was after all a genuine Fourth & Broadway/Island release). Another possibility is that it's purely a fake, made by some bootlegger and having nothing to do with Mica Paris' label. The "mistake" theory is hardly believable anyway: whoever put it on that disc did it on purpose. I'd LOVE 2 c a picture of it & 2 know HOW the song is credited on the disc & cover if credited at all... . I paid $100 bucks for a bootlegged Black Album circa 1986-87. I was in Omaha, NE stalking record stores and mentioned that I wished I could get my hands on Prince's cancelled Black Album and the guy behind the counter pulled out a vinyl copy of the album... the quality was very poor grade -- very hissy and poppy if you know what I'm saying. I was quite disappointed at first, but came to really enjoy it.
I was glad that Warner Bros. forced the release of this music in the mid 90's. I'd probably pay a pretty penny for a copy of the original Dream Factory or Crystal Ball sets even though we've seen the official release of most of the tracks from those albums. The new funk sampler was advertised to cost $700 bucks on npgonlineltd (or some other iteration of Prince's websites). La, la, la

Nice to see there is still some interest in collecting Prince records!
I kind of thought all interest was dying out. Most new fans just seem to be interested in the albums on CD, and not in the rare (or just old) vinyl. There doesn't seem to be so much interest in collecting, like there was when I started being a fan. Now I feel old! Even picture disks seem to go for the same, or less, than they did 15 years ago! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Pri...588654b90d

the sleeve and label credit it as a remix with no mention of "prince vocals or anything like that I will see if I can post a picture . More directly on topic though, I think the gatefold longbox cd of Purple rain would fit the bill as rare and precious. There are very few of these around and it has broad appeal [Edited 3/10/10 7:32am]
