it seems like prince has read orwell's 1984.

lately, his music is full of features associated with nightmare realism.

doom, prophecy, big-brother type vibrations

I'm sorry, but there's nothing in Prince's work that suggests he has read Nineteen Eighty Four, at all. Nothing at all. He may be familiar with a few of the more popular notions and ideals contained in the book, but he's more of a Brave New World man, if you ask me... though I would suggest he's not read that either.

How presumptuous of me... he may have read both. He does not display a knowledge of Nineteen Eighty Four in his work, and appears to lean, through his own themes and ideologies, towards a Brave New World kind of belief.

If I was going to recommend a book to Prince, I would suggest Rubicon by Tom Holland - it details the collapse and fall of The Republic and should give him a number of hints and tips on how best to avoid curtailing a career prematurely.
