His most dramatic entrance

1999, being raised from the bottom to the back of the stage silhouetted in front of the venetian blinds getting ready to sing Controversy..

Purple Rain ...raising from the floor in the front of the stage in silhouetted in front of the drum spotlight to the opening church chords to preach his sermon.

When he interrupted that meeting by The Time in Graffiti Bridge!!!

You can't get more dramatic than that, surely!

Although it was lipsynched, the AMA awards when he got that merit award (1994?) when he performed the Purple Medley... started out with quite a few dancers and at the end of their first number, one of them turned out to be him!

His entrance to the European Mtv Awards in the 90's when he did Peach. That was a cool performace..."Peace to George Michael...Peace to Aerosmith...But death to Prince."

They're on boot video. You'll see them soon.

Quite dramtic indeed--we freaked when he came out of the car. But I still like 1999 and PR just for the dramticness(?) of his "being" "enigmatic and dramatic" stance and look etc.

I have been a Prince fan since "For You" but until the 1999 tour I had never seen Prince live. I was 16 yrs.old when I witness the 1999 concert and that entrance without doubt was one of the coolest things I ever seen. I still remember that!!!

2002 celly, during "Days of Wild", he came out, followed
by his bandmates, from the back of the venue...everyone
parted so they had an aisle...they took their time getting
to the stage...very cool.
Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

How about the Emancipation Celebration that was on MTV in '96 when they had the marching band coming down the aisles and stuff like that?

The Lovesexy Tour when he came out in his Dad's car and then did 1 Menage a Trois dance with Shelia and Cat. Also in N.Y. for Jam Of The Year at Jones beach he came out from a boat in the Harbor. Boy his concerts have just been so much fun.

I don't know about dramatic, but surprising...at a Detroit concert (1998, I think), in the middle of the floor, in a blocked off area that contained a lot of sound equipment, there was this giant trunk-thing. Before the concert started, the spotlight moved to this trunk, and everyone started screaming.

It was about 20 feet in front of me. The top opened up, and Prince rose from a platform out of it. He just stood there with is pistol microphone and said something about "hello Detroit," or something like that. He went back down into it, then a couple of minutes later, was on stage.

Na na na nooo...dramatic is cool, enigmatic, mysterious striking instances. Like wet pavement at night reflecting the neon glare and someone in a trenchcoat walking on it. The D&P thing is like a Disneyland type of amusement park thing.
