Sorry to disagree with what u said above, but the Diamonds And Pearls entrance was ...  THE BEST!
Rosie singing,the lighting,the Space ship-symbol thing,the P pops up in his elevator-TOO COOL!! The Act II entrance wasn't too good IMHO-is it Prince???Is it Mayte???Yeah,course it's fucking Mayte! Yeah THAT was cool! All the lights are freaking out on the stage, the band is just making a ton of noise, you HEAR Prince doin the aaaooowwwaaa sound, but you can't SEE him yet. All of a sudden... a spotlight on a BOAT pulling up along the stage (which is right on the water). The spotlight lands on Prince who a few seconds later, steps of of the boat, on to the stage and rips in to Jam Of The Year. A very cool enterance. Had me right there saying "he came out on a BOAT"! Right Chewy wasn't that such a Great Concert? When he did Face Down it was So Wild! And did you go to the other show at Roseland? That was really Cool also with his Lime Green clothing and Parka and Chris Rock saying he would be on his show. He did so many shows here in N.Y. I was gonna die.MSG,Tramps,Trump. PNC Bank. oh yeah back in 86 when Shelia E.had Her Concert Show on MTV in San Francisco&she just had finished doing "the Glamorous Life"then in the next flip Prince&The Revolution came on too do "A Love Bizarre"&that woke My Ass up.Mico was cooking that Night on Guitar.the whole Frisco Crowd woke up&was Surprised&feeling it. mistermaxxx | |

What about the Gold tour, the end of the Prince Medley and the screaming starts, the lights going down, a huge Gold curtain hiding the stage then hearing start up Endorphinmachine, the curtain dropped revealing coming out from the back of the stage on a conveyor belt playing guitar. | |

I think his most dramatic entrance/opening was the
SIGN O THE TIMES show as well as the 1987 MTV Awards (in that denim jacket he once leant to Tempest Bledsoe to wear on the COSBY SHOW) which was similar... Sick guitar entrace...hypnotic beat begins...Cat dancing...then Sheila and the band's drumline procession! Gave me goosebumps...dont know why...just did! --- On the RYDE DYVINE show doing "Eye Wanna Melt With U"...dramatic music...and P walking out in that Yellow/Gold canary meets Phantom of the Opera get up...and the end of the "3 Chains of Gold" performance was great too...wicked guitar solo...Mayte spinning...not an entrance but a dramatic exit!!! what about at the Vegas show that had Prince on drums then light out for a split second with Sheila sitting behind the drums, another blackout and we now have John in the seat. it was done so quickly a very nice effect. | |
