Prince and "The Chorus"

Prince knows about "the bridge" right? A body of music which leads to the chorus. Shit, he even made a BOMB called Graffiti-something bridge right? Back in the days he thought he was gonna become a star aCtOooor. I'm having trouble understanding how someone who came up with so many bloody great tunes back in the 80s that led to great chorus's like "Little Red Corvette." Now a Prince chorus is some hurried muddled talk about religion with horrible vocal clustering, reminiscent of a shoe being scrapped across gravel and then slowed down upon re-recording.

In all honesty, sounds like Prince is stuck somewhere between Dirty Mind (which is cool) and his mid-90s music (which is very bad). Still no one has told him that using the vocal clustering of his own voice that low and close together sounds like dragging a shoe along a gravel pit.

Pros: The lead up to the bridge, but still too poppy.

Cons: The bridge and chorus are weak. Bad use of vocals in the bridge and chorus. Too poppy for someone who knows how to play gritty live.

Suggestion: Prince, just get a fucking garage band and forget everything you know.

It's true. His songwriting has actually devolved over the years. There are exceptions, but most of his stuff these days just isn't as well crafted as it used to be. Strange.

Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it.
