to compare these excellent albums is not fair imo.

they are very different,

Purple Rain is pop-rock "on the edge",

Lovesexy is more complex, >> Lovesexy will loose.


BUT: I both deeply...

I believe I'm listening to Lovesexy, more than to Purple Rain these days.

Both. It's two somewhat different versions of Prince. Why choose?

For me, only "I Wish U Heaven" wins for Lovesexy. I think it's an album where the sum is greater than the idividual parts.

This is the closest I could get 2 a real comparison of the songs by subject,energy etc etc

And I still can't bring myself to prefer 1 over the other. The purpose for each album is so different. Purple Rain music is much more 'touchable' whereas Lovesexy is 'vague' yet spiritual/social

I will say I can feel the time + quality put into the Purple Rain music, that I don't feel with Lovesexy.

Yea, defiantely hard to compare the 2 because they are so different. Contraversy, 1999, Purple rain would be good comparisons.
ATWIAD, Parade, Lovesexy would be also be good comparisons.

both are stellar in thier own right.
