Pink Cashmere & Anna Fantastic This is probably going to sound a bit daft, but I have a question regarding Pink Cashmere. I've been click clicking on wikipedia (I know, not exactly accurate) and ended up on Anna Fantastic's page.
http://en.wikipedia.org/w..._Fantastic Long story short, when was Pink Cashmere written/recorded? I always thought it was around the 87/88 mark. Same sort of time as Adore and Crucial. Is that right? Because it says on Wiki that Anna was born in 1973, met Prince when she was 16 and he gave her a cashmere coat for her 18th birthday, along with the songs Lemon Crush & Anna Waiting... Giving her the cashmere coat, i'm presuming then influenced him to write the song for her. But she wouldn't have been 18 until 1990 AFTER the songs had been released on Batman, and there's no way on this earth that Pink Cashmere is from then. I'm presuming her age is wrong or something as it makes no sense. Am I right thinking Pink Cashmere is 87/88 ish? Oh and it says that she released a song in 1988 called Ronnie Talk To Russia and it doesn't appear to be the same song as Princes... What are the chances?? Erik blah blah blah

'Pink Cashmere' is from June 1988, so post-Lovesexy.
'Crucial' is from Sept 1986, 'Adore' from November the same year. So there's a little difference in their respective periods. The Ronnie Talk 2 Russia track is an Italo Disco/Europop track, you should be able to find the video for it on YouTube. I'm no expert on Anna Fantastic, but I believe Prince was in contact with her before she was legal, so he may have gave her coat on her 18th, but that would be after the song was written. Obviously, the title/image has sexual overtones, not just necessarily inspired by an actual coat.

Here's a pic of Anna before she received the coat. I see Wiki has no photo uploaded. You know what to do.

That song was produced by the one and only Dieter Bohlen. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

Gotta admit, I had to Google him. Still have no idea who he is. Did he produce David Hasselhoff? And... so is Anna Fantastic the same person as Sheree? If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

Just to say: I think this track is 'fantastic' (ahem). There's no doubt it should've been released at the time, and as a single (1993 doesn't cut it for me since it had no real video and no f-ing promotion).
A really lush video would've done wonders. Could've taken the place of Arms Of Orion on Batman, or at the least a b-side.
