Well, I hope that he would surprise us all with that - I'd certainly be interested to read that. But, would he? It seems doubtful, but you just never really know with him, eh?

Wow, and would he use language from the era, like:

"Oh, there was this time in 1988 we all went out for shakes and burgers. It was hundalasiliah!"

"And then in 1992 we tore shit up on the mothafuckin stage yo with ma homies Tony and Kirk, knowhumsayin? B'lee da hype, boyeeee!"

"At the Lotusflower launch nobody would listen to me when I brought them the divine word of J, and tried to warn them about chemtrails. But brother larry consoled me and we studied the book of Leviticus with some of our gay sinner bretheren."

For 20 years, Ive wanted him to design and rlease his own line of guitars. Not a $5000 cloud guitar, but something affordable. Even if its something like a new line of fender, or Gibson guitar. You have Fender Squire, and Gibson Epiphone, so maybe something along those lines. Maybe include a dvd of some tutorials of Prince songs and famous guitar licks. (no not literally licking the guitar)
He is all about younger people getting into music, so I think it would be fitting for him to have an affordable instrument line.

He wrote the bass-line, from what I've heard.

Even more rubbish. Sheesh, why are people repeating nonsense that was debunked ages ago, and even add more nonsense?

Mindflux said:

Its so subtle, that just 2 years later, Coca-Cola are sponsoring his tour! They wouldn't have done that if Prince had an obvious tie with Pepsi.

Anyways, a tour sponsorship and one bass-line for a jingle that no-one even knew was him in a 30-year career is hardly Prince selling out or being a marketing tool!

Prince wrote a song Coca-Cola used for ages (apparently).

FYI: Prince has done several ads. LRC was used in an ad, and Tina Turner covered one of his tunes for an ad (and yes, he had to give permission for that).

Because the liner notes of an ancient boot are such a great source of truth?

http://prince.org/msg/5001/551

Sheesh, even the DTTL repeats this nonsense: http://www.dtt-lyrics.com...A-Z.html#U

A blues-tinged number built around a funky bassline which Prince wrote for Ray Charles for use in a 1991 Diet Pepsi commercial. Reportedly, Prince received a cool $7 million for the slogan. The lyrics are about the virtues of a positive, spiritual frame of mind.

The truth, as published on MSNBC back in 1999:

Diet Pepsi had been changing its somewhat limp advertising slogans frequently. "The right one" was conceived in 1989, but William Katz, now BBDO president and then head of the Pepsi account, said it "felt a bit stilted and marketingese." Creative director Alfred Merrin and jingle writer Peter Cofield tried to tailor "the right one" to Charles' jivey delivery and threw in "baby." They had two syllables left over for the Raylettes: Merrin said they played with the idea of doo-woo but ultimately went to uh-huh, "a two syllable grunt that embodies affirmativess."

See also: http://prince.org/msg/7/199978

Prince didn't actually write the song, in a thread a long time ago it was discovered his version just builds on an existing jingle written by someone else.

ASCAP Title Code 510092625 Uh-huh {Prince}

ASCAP Title Code 570059255 You Got The Right One Baby-Diet Pepsi {Peter Cofield and Alfred Merrin}

From that thread:

please allow me to set the record straight...My name is Peter Cofield
and I composed the uh huh song for diet pepsi in 1990...I wrote the tune and
collborated on the lyrics with Al Merrin who worked for the agency involved..
Prince heard the tune with Ray singing it and then decided to his own"real"
song...any ordinary google search would substantiate this ..or any inquiry to
pepsico inc...thanks Peter

T has also been debunking it for ages:
http://groups.google.com/...915928306/

Well C.. If I had to back it up I would just say this... PLEASE PAY
ATTENION to the sample he uses.. DIRECTLY FROM THE COMMERCIAL, AND...
The sample is truncated badly...

Prince has (also) being sponsored/ advertising for Coca-Cola.

He wrote the bass-line, from what I've heard. Hardly blatant advertising tho, is it - I mean, MJ, Britney and others, they all appeared in the advert and tied themselves distinctly to the brand. Prince's contribution was so subtle, most people don't even know that he's done it.

I've no objection to him earning a dollar by writing a jingle or something, just wouldn't want to see him plastered on the telly with Brand X!

there's also a coca-cola songby Prince registered at the library of congress. Supposedly it is the song with the lyrics ''the stars will always shine, the birds will always song, as long as there's thirst, there's always the real thing''. quite a nice song BTW

Yet you happily repeat nonsense that has been debunked MORE THAN A DECADE AGO.

Ya know, you can just look up when a song was copyrighted. I'm backed up by quotes from articles on the likes of MSNBC, by posts from T, by a quote from THE DUDE WHO WROTE THE SONG. All it took was 5 minutes of Googling.

Oh, and it's also backed up by simply LISTENING to Prince's "Uh Huh", which quite clearly uses a sample from the TV ad.

He should star in a horror remake. He should take over for Vincent Price in the lead role in The Abominable Dr. Phibes, about a horribly mutilated musician taking revenge on the team of doctors who failed to save his dying wife. That would be a lot of fun.

Hence, why I'm not even bothering furnishing that jackass with a response. I wonder if Bart has any social experience at all, or if he just sits in his room with his computer alone all the time - cos if he talked to people like that in reality, he'd come a cropper I think!

Actually, I think he's already done that with the blue Habibi guitar, shaped like the symbol. Only difference was, you could only order from the old music club at one point. Somebody please correct me if this is not true.

Funny how you don't like getting a verbal beatdown, and then lust for me to get an actual beatdown. For some, hurt feelings can only be resolved by physically abusing someone else.

Do I talk to people like this? Yup, increasingly I've stopped being polite to people who waste my time. Is someone blocking an escalator? I'm done saying "excuse me" and simply shove people out of the way, admonishing them for being idiots. It's a hell of a lot more entertaining for me, and I can only hope that being embarrassed in public will teach those idiots a lesson which apparently they hadn't learned after the previous ten people politely asked them to move out of the way.

Verbal beatdown? don't make me laugh - that was just a pedantic, self-aggrandising, misguided rant with no gravity to it that was just simply rude - its the rudeness I don't care for. who said anything about actual beatings? but, if that's your experience.....

wow - must be great in the World according to Bart - judging everything and everyone with the utter belief that he is always right, administering a perverse justice by deliberately degrading anyone who doesn't speak or perform to his liking! you have a much too high opinion of yourself and an unhealthy attitude to virtually everyone else. not that you care....rolleyes

Would it be a competition? Would viewers get to vote on which fan had the best recording? A Prince reality show needs to be more interesting than this imo. I also don't think Prince would ever let people see how he records in the studio? It's like how great magicians never reveal their magic tricks.
