I thought fans love "unconditionally" Otherwise, why call yourself a fan? Right now, some of what Prince is doing or saying (or who he is associating with) is not making much sense, but this shouldn't be nothing new to a true Prince fan. Prince has been known to put his all into whatever he believes in and then as soon as he gains interest in something, he quickly loses interest in it. I believe that what going on with him (his last CD, Bria, Larry, etc) is just another phase that he is going through. It is our obligation as fans to be supportive, in spite of his latest fascinations, because we know his potential to do better. This is just how I feel, hate it or love it. but try not to be hostile in commenting on it.  I wont be hostile Maria, your restraint and manners will be respected so here is my answer. I am unconditional in my respect for Prince's talents and nothing or no one can sway me from believing he is the most gifted/versitile musician to walk the earth. I'm no longer a teenager, i'm 40 something and every year pretty much brings one less thing i feel i should waste my time with, i dont even talk on the phone as much as i used to. But, no matter my opinions on prince's current 20 year "phase" i come here unconditionally, it's free and i get a chance to read shit from people who dig Prince like me. I also get insulted from time to time and even get to write a few things that insult others, but all in all it's fam (not the fam you mean lol) because families debate and fight. I'm not waiting for prince to please me, at least not in the studio, he's not the first to get old and stale and he wont be the last-it's called life's cycle. After 30 years of buying his shit, legal and otherwise i dont feel i'm obligated to give him my money when he's dropping weak shit but i'll cuss anybody out who say's he aint the shit because he is. A lot of us here are grown, some of us divorced or whatever-we know theres no Santa Claus and we know theres no unconditional love.Theres a whole lot of people i love that i dont feel obligated to be around, because they contribute to a condition that offends me. I love Floyd Mayweather (the boxer) but as long as he wont challenge himself or fight the guys who actually have a chance of beating him i will act accordingly. People are fair weather- and the only time anything is real is when we "want"to do something not "have"to. When you start feeling like to "have"to fuck your spouse...it's over, right?. I wanted to get to the store to buy the 12" of Housequake, would run through fire and lie to my mama to get it. I walked into target for a month straight with lotusflower positioned near my deodorant, my yogurt, my razors everywhere lol and it never crossed my mind. Maybe i'm fairweather, but to me i just think that i'm grown. | |
