What in the hell is wrong with you people. I have clarified that I am not a fam. I have stated that I don't hold Prince up as Christ. I have written over and over again what I meant by what I wrote( even correcting myself for carelessly using the words, unconditionally, love, and obligated). I am not about to sit here and go over any of that again. If you don't get it, then forget it. Nowhere did I say that "we are to blindly follow Prince" for that person or persons that compare my statement to Jim Jones and Jonestown. Some of you must simply look at the original thread and go for broke. Get a damn grip people!!!!!
Again, please, read every comment before commenting. Then you have all the answers to your questions. Idk, some of you make a person wanna cuss. Prince is not and will never be my messiah. All I am simply saying is that we should be supportive (of his musical choices) and allow him to go through this latest phase, instead of hanging him out to dry as if he's somebody who hasn't proven himself musically. Speaking of making somebody wanna cuss...here is the problem with your dumbass thread! The majority of the people you are talking about here have been Prince fans for decades! Some, myself included, go all the way back to the very beginning of Prince's career! We've been supportive of Prince and his music through ALL of his good, his bad and his what the fuck was he thinking! Not because we were obligated to do so, nor because of any unconditional love! We did so because WE WANTED TO and WE CHOSE TO because of what his music means to us, individually! So our not liking his current efforts and being vocal about it, doesn't make us "fair weather fans"! It makes us the TRUEST of all his fans because we care enough to be HONEST about his happy ass when it's more than apparent that nobody else is...when somebody needs and has to! You are free to think whatever you like about us...just know that when you come on here trying to lecture us...that if we aren't afraid to tell it like it is when it comes to Prince...we damn sure won't give a flying fuck about telling it like it is when it comes to the likes of you! . I'm sorry. I was wrong to judge you. I now realize how careless I've been. Please forgive me for my ignorance in all things Prince. I will never bother you with my opinions again. But, I refuse to be discounted as a Prince novice. I've been listening to Prince's music for nearly twenty years. And I will not be disrespected by anyone. When I joined this site, I thought I was amongst like-minded Prince fans. I didn't know the extent that you guys go to to get your points across. I have a right to my opinion and you have a right to respond. That's not my problem with this site. I welcome your opinion, it just appears that you don't value mines. I didn't mean to "lecture" anyone. I was asked to explain my comment and I thought I did. As for cussing, that's me getting defensive. Just as you do when you feel that your views are under attack. I think too many people around here act like Prince is either the second coming of The Pope or Charles Manson.
He's not perfect, and has made a lot of mistakes. But they're not really that major and not worth making a federal case about like a lot of people here think. -The LotusFlow3r website hasn't been successful at all. So I won't be renewing my membership. Not that big a deal, IMO. -The Youtube thing doesn't bother me in the slightest. An artist should always be able to control how his art is distributed. Plus, Youtube ain't the only game in town. People whining and crying about the youtube thing need to do their homework. -Quality of music declining. Art has always been subjective. Britney Spears sold 100 million copies, still doesn't mean her music is any good. Also, a lot of people seem to be personally offended by Prince's songwriting abilities declining. -Prince being a Jehovah Witness doesn't matter to me one bit. I'm honestly shocked at how many people really care about this. 10 years later. JERKIN' EVERYTHING IN SIGHT!!!!! | |

Preeching to the converted mate, you only have to read my posts to see that I think Prince has lost his spark. All I was trying to point out was that instead of the usual Fam "I'm right, and your comments are irrellevent, hater" type post, Maria has actually tried to follow up her OP with more views and explanations, she's not simply another blinkered fam. I really wish something would happen in Princeland to give us something new to talk about. Want to get back to discussing the music rather than all the other guff that follows him around
