Prince Symbol on TV Tomorrow - Not Sure What It Is Sunday night on HD Theater channel, there's a show called Street Customs. It's on at 8 p.m.
I'm telling you this, because I saw a random preview for the show, and these two guys walked into the office of the President of Monster Cable to talk about customizing his car for something. In the guy's office is a HUGE frame of the symbol. It's not a gold record award or anything like that (cuz God knows he hasn't had any in a coon's age). I have no idea what's in this frame. There are other smaller framed pictures within the big frame. It had a purple background, and the symbol was in a black circle, and was probably 15" or so in diameter. There was a preview of the show today and it's how I caught it. I thought "Hmm, something is familiar in that shot!" (It went by quickly.) So I rewound the TV and saw it. I've just no idea what it is in there. I thought I'd let folks know to catch it. Maybe someone could figure it out.

I'm betting Monster Cable has some sort of sponsorship deal with Prince? That would make it all make sense.

It's not a tambourine. It's WAY too big for that, and it's flat anyway. They could have done the cable work for the Musicology Tour or something, and he sent them that.

He designed, built and modified studios for the likes of Herbie Hancock, Marcus Miller, Rafael Sadiq, Maxwell, Jonathan Butler, and Organized Noyze, to name a few. On the other hand, Dave's expertise allowed him to also design and build large format studios for Creflo Dollar and World Changers Ministries, Babyface, and Marcus Miller, as well as the recent restoration of Paisley Park Studios for Prince.

Yup. Dave is a friend of mine, and he did the Paisley Park stuff a while back. "He's a musician's musician..."

Exactly...."recent" could be anything. It all depends when that blurb was written and put on the Monster Cable site. M.C. is a dishonest business anyway, and I have no plans to ever support them, or their overpriced product.

As Gio pointed out, the renovations with the Monster wiring was years ago, actually before 3121 if I recall correctly. What do you know about Monster being dishonest? I'm quite curious. I've used plenty of their products in the past but have switched to more affordable and just as good, or better alternatives. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

Here's one story, that is indicative of many.
Hey, so here's an idea: perhaps everyone should just stop buying anything made by Monster Cable. That or set up a dummy corporation with the word "monster" in the name, since you're basically guaranteed they'll spin their wheels serving a summons for merely existing. (Don't worry, you'll have limited personal liability.) You pick, whatever's easier. [Thanks, Jason; also, here's the Monster Mini Golf site] Here's another:
I just refuse to support businesses that are bullies. I had heard of the Mini Golf story before, but it came up the other day while talking to a friend about this particular episode of Street Customs. He reminded me of Monster's bullying, and LYING, tactics. It's one thing to save face a little bit, but when you are going after a fucking miniature golf business, it's just wrong as all fuck. Here's another story about the miniature golf: http://online.wsj.com/art...82969.html [Edited 2/22/10 16:40pm]

Yeah, screw Monster if they're going to conduct business like that. Ridiculous. I just laid some big brown monster cable in the toilet. I hope they don't sue me.
