Purple Rain has been my response to everything tonight for some reason lol... but again, has to be Purple Rain... that album is my favorite album in the world, full stop. Least fav track on there is 'baby im a star' but it's definitely not a filler.

on every single album will be titled "filler" by someone, somewhere.



i can't really consider any track on any prince album "filler" since
he records so much that he could fill 2 albums for every one that he
releases.

bad song choice, perhaps. but it's not something he threw on there
to end up with enough song to fill an album [which is what i take
the term 'filler' to mean]

I agree with IstenSteak, Prince has many albums that don't have any 'filler' on them--just songs that aren't all that great.

I don't think Prince ever records a song just to complete an album--he probably things the songs he places on his albums are all essential to the album (how Jughead could be, I don't know).


But if I had to pick an album that had all strong songs, I'd say Purple Rain.
Parade & SOTT come close but have a couple of songs in them that I think is just meh.

Annoyingly for someone so prolific I don't believe he's ever made a filler free album. The closest he came to it was Dream Factory which got diluted into SOTT.

Purple Rain is the only one I can honestly say there is absolutely no filler. Beginning to end every song is perfect.
