I don't consider myself a fanatic, but his music/lyrics/ambiance has to some degree shaped my life. I delve deeper into his music and with each new unreleased track that I uncover, I find myself immersed in what I'm not sure is his mentality or mine. It's without any semblance of recourse of course. What is it that I'm truly searching for, and is he: not the avenue?

In answer to your question. I'm sure Prince cares about everybody, only he cares about "other things for us" than what most of us would want him to care about for us. He wants us to find the peace he has. But people generally don't want peace. We go for the opposite because we're bombarded with it daily from all angles. e.g. news/propaganda/internet/world in dissaray.

If you want him to be a star or an entertainer, you may want him to care about you.

I want him to be an artist. Therefore, I don't want him to care about us and just want him to be honest to his muse.

I also want him to be an honest businessman when he conducts his own business

I didn't start listening to Prince again until last year after a hiatus of 15 years. I find that his music new and old has meaning for me in my life now for whatever reason...plus I just really enjoy "re-discovering" it all after all these years. I'm not really concerned about how much P values me as a fan or consumer; I'm only concerned with how much value and enjoyment I get out of his music now. That may fade in the future, but right now, I'm enjoying the ride!
