The classic Brit Awards acceptance speech

I remember watching at the time and thinking...there's just no one else like him. He has no time for Holly Johnson, either...

they appear to have erased P's Brit award, for best film soundtrack in 1984/5, from history, (or at least from their list of awards won ?!

sweet acceptance speech tho'.

that cringe worthy introduction at the 1985 awards.

Nor do I think he appreciated that "some of his records have been banned for being explicit." Prince was PISSED!

By looking at his competition in 95 – I’d be embarrassed if Prince didn’t win that award.

Although it would have been nice to Luther win.

Yeh, what a way to have your award presented to you!! Especially when people question your sexuality because of your fashion sense! Nowadays that would have caused a bigger uproar.

I've always thought that in the 1995 speech he must have thought "Slave" was written on the other cheek. Am I the only one to have noticed that??

oh my god, the "slave" speech.

I remember being shamefaced embarrassed at watching that show with friends who knew I was a Prince fan. The guy came across like a drugged up retard!!!

I think the slave speech was cool biggrin cool

and it gave Prince a rare front page on New Musical Express:

"Prince best? the Gold experience better..... in concert perfectly free, on record slave.... Peace. Thank U..."

that made sense to me back then... and he looked good that night.
