Is it just me?? I think that's a good thing. He's going the Bowie route. Once you've exhausted all your crazy ideas, go classy and grow up.

I like him in suits, with the short hair. He looks really fine.
Compare it to the blue Rave-suit with that haircut...

And my avatar is the funky Rave style.. I mean the Rave dvd style haircut.. of course I don't like the new extremely high-collars he sports these days. And too many men have pin-striped suits, you know? He can still have class, and wear something funky...like he did with that red suit. Also like the white outfit, with the long train, at the celebration.

[/quote] He looked very nice during the Antwerp soundcheck last year. He wore red tight pants, really funny red boots with no heels, very cowboy'ish. He wore the Days of Wild cap, but a bigger hat on top of that. Very 85/86 'America'-style! That was cool!

I personally dig the style he's sporting now. Classy, smooth, successful...oh no, i'm beginning to sound like mr. blackwell. style is not thinking about style...so let me stop.

He looks like Laurence Llwelyn Bowen in this picture. "Darling let me redesign your kitchen cabinets with this wonderfull lavender painted MDF". and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

Errr, uhh - that outfit with the long train... I stepped on it in Vegas when he had all the NPGMC members on stage at the end of the show at the Aladdin! Even though he doesn't swear anymore, I know Prince had to be thinking, "What The Hell?!! There were so many fams on stage that it took me a couple seconds to actually find a section of floor to finally land on! I could feel him pulling, trying to "GET FREE, yeah"!!! I was so embarrased!! C'mon Nikkie! I'm sorry, I'm gonna hafta disagree with you on the blue Rave suit and the hair! I thought he looked sexy as hell! I have always liked Prince's hair when it was big and "poofy"...longer and fuller! The way he wore it during The Rave, as well as the Sign-O-The Times / Lovesexy eras were my absolute favorites in terms of how he wore his hair! He has always looked good to me. I think he looks very handsome now! The only looks I had a problem with were those Versace poses - he looked too effeminate! I also didn't particularly care for the big stiff looking hair with those curly-que side burns! Brotha must've been giving hell to hair gel back then!

The post 1999 and PR look got embarassing at times save for Parade, SOTT and a few others. Thank god he decided to come with it and dress semi-normal but with that dash of flash still. Those drapes and Jesus robes he would wear and everything..man. Yuck. It was always a "what did his hair look like" "what did he have on " thing and most were disappointing and embarassing. But when he was "on" he was "on" like nobodys' business. Lately he has been on. I doubt that you will se him go back to the flash silly look..he is on a different plane-level now. Its a music/ respectful thing right now. It would be hard and/or silly to go back to outrageousness just for outrageousnesses sake. Plus this new feel gives more respect to the music and not the image which was NEEDED so much! I almost got tore a new asshole when I suggested that he should start dressing dapper instead of that Blue rave suit back when that was about to be released (" that out there look is what Prince is about! shut up!"). Wrong! "Climb in my fur."

The only clothing I didn't like was the tight pants and HUGE long-sleeved shirts of the GB days. Dapper? It's one thing to dress sharp, and other thing to dress boring. Pin-striped suits are boring. He is an entertainer, not a chairman on the board of IBM!

That's my point. To me, there is nothing unique and special about that look. I'm not saying he doesn't look mature, classy, and business-like. Oh, and stop with the high collars! They make him look like he's got a 10 inch long neck.

Him dressing semi normal is just as striking as him and his leg warmers etc imho "Climb in my fur."

I didn't think he looked outrageous in the 90's...all those fine silk clothes? Sorry, I still don't agree.

I can't quite put my finger on it, but it just doesn't balance out his look well. Now if the collar were any color other than white, then perhaps it wouldn't look so bad in my eyes.
