Dancing on stage Has anyone had the lucky chance to dance on stage with prince & the band?
This had to be a crazy moment in your life that could never be forgotten. I almost had the chance to go up on stage @ Musicology, but Trevor said they had enough folks already lined up!! Yet i've seen enough concerts with people on stage with prince & wondering what is running through their damn minds.. so please let us know. How did it happen, what tour or after private/party? what song? & most of all How did u feel afterwards .... alot of info, I know -- can't wait to hear! peace & be wild love 4 oneanother [Edited 3/1/10 9:03am] [Edited 3/1/10 9:04am]

the first time was at brixon academy in london 98 (jam of the year from npgmc was from the start of that show), it was the day after prince stagedived on me at cafe de paris
then when he played the uk again in 2002 during ONA i was onstage at all the uk shows where he got people onstage to dance (3 out of 5 i think). at the first night prince literally grabbed my hand as i was front row in the middle in front of his mic, and he tried to pull me onstage, but i shook him off and just pushed up onto the stage i also got onstage at paisley park in 2004 during the 2nd afterparty. if there is anything cooler than being onstage with prince, it's being onstage with prince at paisley park

Yes - at the Tamar show in Minneapolis. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Yes, at the Empire Club in Vegas. Prince called me on stage and I went on to dance with Tamar and the Twins. Great and fun memories.

I did...I was also lucky enough to get pics of it as well. We all know how strict they are with the cameras at a Prince show so it wasn't with my own camera. I was lucky enough to get to know Prince's photographer Afshin,(really great guy) and he took photos and they were up on the NPG Music Club website for almost a year. I've seen myself in the front row in quite a few bootleg dvd concerts but dancing and singing on stage was pretty cool.

Yes - lucky enough to have several extended dance sessions during the Sydney show of his 2003 tour just prior to Musicology.
Now this was part of the OnStage Xperience that people paid for, but it was an experience well worth it (especially as it included a very cool private meet & greet & chat with him). The way the show was set up the side risers had seats on them for us to chill on during the show and then at various points Prince would call out "where my dancers at?" and we would all file out. There were two sets of about 2 songs during the show, then we were called back out during the encore. I was lucky enough for Prince to come and dance next to me mimicking my moves (unbeknownst to me) then he grab my hand and led me over to Larry Graham who had come on for a cameo. Prince and I walked over to Larry and Prince turned to me and said "when Larry turns round we gonna pretend we got hit by a truck". Sure enough Larry turns slapping his bass and Prince and I shuffle back. Prince turned to me and said "too cool too cool". Then for the remainder of the encore jam (about 20 minutes) Prince had me stand right next to him, front of stage while he sang a few more songs. It was an experience not to forget, and one that I doubt I will ever top. Swa "I'm not human I'm a dove, I'm ur conscience. I am love"

My wife danced at the Celebration 2000 concert in Minneapolis in June, 2000. It was during the big jam toward the end with Doug E. Fresh and Q-Tip and those guys.
When he called her up, she freaked a little and stumbled when she climbed over the barricade. He kinda put his hand to his mouth and then walked down and held out his hand to help her up the stage. He leaned over and said something into her ear and she told me later that he asked, "Are you okay?" She replied with a big grin and a nod. This memory is especially nice to recall...she passed away on December 18th, last year.

First time I've listened to it in *years*.

my first time on stage with prince was at the 07/07/07 at the target center.
I was the in the 12th seat. 1st time in front row. I got to talk with one of prince"s bodyguards, he said to me I love your trench coat, I have seen that trench coat before, where did you get it, I repliled, I never reveal my resources, he said, good anwser. I was dressed in a shiny purple trench coat, Shelby asked me to be on stage she said to me I see that you are ready, I was so excited to be on stage with prince. I was so scared, there was a few other females which followed me, I just went to the back by the keyboard player. and danced with the twins. I had a blast, I wanted to go up to prince and say hello, but I felt frozen to where i was. I still had a great time. John Goodman came up on the stage and sung a song or two. It was the best time, I wish I had pics of that experance. Love, Peace, & B Wild [Edited 2/20/10 12:05pm] [Edited 2/20/10 12:07pm] [Edited 2/20/10 12:09pm]
