Prince if you read this :call Bobby,Wendy,Matt ,Mark and Lisa Prince and the Revolution ended way too early .
They didn't run out of good ideas and sometimes if you want to go further u got to revisit some important part of you life and career . Prince's performance with W and L on Brits awards few years ago was very inspired and full of fire. I'ts the only band that felt like a real band with personality and you can see that on band rehearsals videos that circulate the net. Prince should reunite with them for a full album and tour and the result will be amazing. Its like a reunion with high school buddies

It's a dead subject, because it will never happen.

I think it could happen considering there's no built up animosity or hate or grudges built up inside between them. "Not to sound cosmic, but I've made plans for the next 3,000 years," he says. "Before, it was only three days at a time."

I would hope so. I know P's not all about $ but at the same time, this would have The Revolution pockets fat again ... LoL Peace ... & Stay Funky ...

If Prince calls all members to leave what they

Doesn't matter if Prince reunites with the entire, former Revolution band, it won't bring back the 80s Prince. I mean if that's the case then it will only be a matter of time before folks start asking to bring back Dez and Gail Chapman for the late 70s Prince. [Edited 2/15/10 15:28pm]

no need for 80's Prince
Prince and the Revolution of today with more mature in the sound

Prince and the Revolution of today with more mature in the sound But people would be expecting the 80s revolution because that's the era they're known for. I get the feeling some folks want him to play with the revolution again because they have a hard time accepting the changed and matured Prince, and only see his music worthy if he's back with the Revolution as though getting back together with the Revolution, solidifies his entire music career. Just my two cents. [Edited 2/15/10 15:33pm]

Fuck what people expect ,
you can't recreate the past but you can revisit the past. I don't care for how Prince and the Revolution sounded in the 80's 'cuz i heard it. I'm more into where would Prince and the Revolution go in music today . If those 6 talented cats get together miracles can happen. You wont get 80's Prince but probably what you will get is very very inspired Prince. Sometimes you should go back in past to revisit some aspects of what you were then and combine it to what you have become now. Results can be amazing.

3 years ago Prince planned big tour for 3121 and if you all remember Prince said that he will bring some of his old friends on tour.
But everything never realized because of Prince's divorce. Wonder who are those old friends ?

[Edited 2/15/10 15:28pm] I don't know why peeps can't get it through their heads that Prince is and always has been a solo act with a backing band and he changes band members according to his vision at any given time. Any band members who thought otherwise were mistaken. Unlike bands like the Stones, for example, they were all employees from the very beginning despite their level of input. Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

If they want the Revolution era back, go into their Prince and the Revolution catalogue and start listening to the music of that era. There's plenty to pull from. Right now, it's more than 20 years after the Revolution, a different day and time, and Prince has moved on since then. Just something some fans have to accept. [Edited 2/15/10 16:06pm]

But everything never realized because of Prince's divorce. Wonder who are those old friends ? He did bring on some old friends, for example, Sheila E.. Larry Graham, was there at a couple of shows, as well as others that showed up, as well as the separate acts that performed mid-week, at Club 3121 in Vegas. Don't you remember that? Bands split up and go there separate ways for a reason(s). Exactly. It was W&L who were jumping ship before the Hit N Run Tour and Bobby talked them down at the 11th hour. Brownmark wanted out too. We all know the stories. Besides, Prince has played "America" with Mark, Matt, and Bobby, and worked with W&L over the years, including being on the Brit Awards (which is the best "Purple Rain" has sounded since 1986), Tavis Smiley, and on various songs on his album, and one on theirs. Compile all that stuff, and there you have it. There's your reunion compilation.

It would be great if it happened. All of us would love it, but I'm not counting on it. There's enough Prince & The Revolution material out there (studio, outtakes, live shows, etc, etc,) for everyone to get their fill.
So yeah, I'd love it and I'd buy the record/go see them live, but it isn't going to happen. Everyone has moved on. P. has worked with each of the members since then so there can't be TOO much animosity, but it doesn't mean they all want to start touring/recording together again.

It's a dead subject, because it will never happen. just coz it can never happen, doesnt mean its a dead subject i know of several threads in P:m&m that could fit in that category id love to see a reunited Revolution. but im not holding my breath seems that i was busy doing something close to nothing, but different than the day before

Here we go again with the argument that it's more than just musical preference. For fucks sake, when will people realise that it's only music we're talking about. I prefer the Faces over Rod Stewart's later work, Foo Fighters over Nirvana, Queen's early albums over their later works, Pink Floyd with Waters writing the material, Madonna's work with William Orbit over her other material, Joe Satriani's new guitar sound but earlier tracks, the list goes on. I don't have a "hard time" in accepting these facts, I just buy the music I want to listen to that I like. There's nothing wrong with liking an artists different works over others. At the end of the day they are only selling a product and as consumers we choose whether or not to invest in the said goods. If I want to pop into town and buy Songs in the Key of Life instead of A Time to Love I can. And it'd be the better album too

wendy and lisa contributed to "planet earth" and there is nothing
on that album that is even remotely in the same league as any of the old revolution songs. i had high hopes for that album when i read that they were on it, even if it was only on a few songs. but the end result made me realise that even if they did hook up again right now, the sound would never come back. the only thing that would be as good as anything back in those glory days would be a nice box set of unreleased revolution stuff recorded between 1983-1986. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

I'm not gonna say it'll never happen...
but it'll be nice to see them funk it out for a few hrs again. The vybe may not be exactly the same way it was back in the 80's and it won't be pleasing to some (but then again, can't please everyone ). It'll just be one helluva reunion! Ain't nuthin wrong with that I swear the words "HATER" is wayyy over-rated...smh
