Roger or Rogers

OK - i know this is a deadhorse topic, but I've jsut been watching a doco most of y'all have prob'ly seen called "Prince - Unauthorized". They show some document that they imply is abirth certificate that says "Prince Roger Nelson" without the "s".
I had always believed it was Rogers and had laughed when the error was made (and in fact Pepe Willie says rogers later in the same doco), Does anybody know if that document is legit/ can anyone clear this up?

(I know it's not really important or interesting, but since there's no new material to discuss...)

It might have been simply left out from there accidentally. One possibility is of course that his parents chose "Roger" instead of "Rogers", because it was just a more normal middle name.

What the hell am I talking about? As if "Prince" would have been a normal choice for a first name to begin with.

Here's another state document with the incorrect spelling. But... It does not mean a thing in regards to Prince's true birth name. It just means that his birth certificate was wrong.
If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

the 's' was left out on the birth cert, but he is named after the Prince Rogers Trio, his dad's band. It is likely that its omission was just a mistake.

I thought He had put a 's' in, because Rogers sounded better... but I could be wrong...

I'm pretty sure he was named after his Dad's band, the Prince Rogers Trio, but I never knew that there was this officail discrepancy, Geez, what banal trivia we get caught up in when there's nothing going on...
