Play In The Sunshine/$ "And the color green will make your best friend(s) leave ya..." is a lyric to "Play In The Sunshine." Who was Prince referring to? The Revolution? W&L?
I'm starting to think the Revolution break up was based on money. Listening to these lyrics and W&L complaining they didn't want to finish up "Roadhouse Garden" because they didn't think they'd be compensated. Prior to the break up, Prince & the Revolution had written lots of material for Crystal Ball and Dream Factory. A lot which was never released, intact. Also, Prince recorded and performed most of Sign O' the Time by himself. And basically shelved the original recording which featured the group. What's your thoughts? Am I wrong?

I think it's directed at Morris Day. The rest of the line is, "Or it'll make him do the walk". The Walk was a dance Morris Day did.

Agreed. And great play on lyrics, with the following line referring to 'Cool' and constrasting it with, one day in the future, every day being 'a yellow day' (probable link to 'Condition Of The Heart', and possible common link to 'My Many Colored Days'by Dr Seuss ... just as his 'Green Eggs and Ham' is referenced in 'Housequake') (See also 'Play In The Sunshine' live performance background choreography) ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. It's a gift.

Am I wrong? what exactly did he re record? Do we know? I know strange relationship was rerecorded for Camille, and subsequently that version ended up on SOTT, but was there really many more? Anyone know for sure? Erik blah blah blah

I was curious as to the different versions of songs that appear on DF and SOTT.

If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.
