My Ipod lists the song Resolution as Revelation...why?

Yeah I remember that misspelling from back when the album was released,

I think the record company is to blame for that mistake.... (?)

someone correct me if I'm wrong....

That would be sooooo anoying; meaning no one down the chain listened to the song or proof-read? That's like giving a presentation and the handouts having the company's name on it from the previous presentation.

I think the tracklist was leaked to cd selling stores, incl. that misspelling.....

like the first tracklist to the Ultimate 2cd (incl. The Purple Medley) was leaked, and later corrected.

So that makes it somewhat of a collector's item?

^ haha I don't think so: all Planet Earth cd's are alike, only the tracklist was leaked, and spelled wrong... afaik....

(sorry if I misunderstood you...)

No, no you didn't misunderstand me...I looked on the CD jacket and there was not listing; and I never noticed this before on the IPOD. Thanks for the explanation.

a little strange: you are speaking about iTunes aren't you??

I have just checked my own copy of Planet Earth ("Mail On Sunday" edition),

and iTunes recoqnizes song 10 on my PE cd as Resolution, which of course is the right title.. wink

My "real" copy of Planet Earth bought in a record store is still sealed.. so I can't try that..

Maybe iTunes have 2 different album "versions" in their cd title base....?

and your cd just happens to match the wrong, once leaked and misspelled.....

(sorry for my bad english.... I hope you get the message anyway.... let others maybe explain this phenomenon a little better wink)

maybe BorisFishpaw or Squirrelgrease - or someone else - knows why,

I think I have read somewhere, that Windows Media Player also (used to) have this misinfo track "Revelation" as track #10 on Planet Earth...

I have just checked but my WMP writes the right title Resolution.

(Again: my copy is the Mail On Sunday version...)

iTunes has a user-defined database, so the leaked/false track listing that includes "Revelation" incorrectly has stuck with Planet Earth. You just have to re-title it in iTunes.
If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.
