It's easy for people to forget that Prince did release 3 CDs less than a year ago. Whether you like them or not, he put out a bunch of music. Unfortunately, the Lotu$flower debacle obscures that fact, which is ironic because he also made available about, what? Three hours or so of unreleased performances? What he didn't do was much live performing - at least, not by his standards. I'd like to see more performances.

Get used to it though, its more boring now regardless if he puts out music, his touring days ended in 2004 as he promised they would. And NO shacking up at a venue for a month is not a tour, its a vacation. So to get this boring time to end he needs to be putting out music constantly, but i really think he is calling it a day at this point. i dont think anyone in their right mind expects prince to pump out MUSIC endlessly. he has pretty much proven hes only capable of a bad photo copy of himself at this point and its a far cry from the MUSIC category ... however considering he expects people to buy whatever he calls that crap he lays down on cd each year i'd think its fair that those who pay for his gluttonous lifestyle expect at least some more crap in return and endlessly. i mean isnt that why we supported his internet and clubs and concerts and all the shit he sells .. cuz he had so much music he wanted to share with us ... music ... endlessly ... no i'm just waiting for him to pump out some actual music .. I EXPECT him to pump out crap endlessly at this point .. one more shitty record and I may return to my previous hiatus from purchasing until he actually puts some work into writing something relevant unfortunately he is getting a lot of respect and recognition these last few years at a time he should be hitting rock bottom and trying harder ...

Irregardless of what your opinion of it, Prince just released a song , what 3 weeks ago? That did generate opinion and controversy.
Btw , hope he does an annual song to support the Vikings, things can only look up merf

Hell, I'd love to just get DECENT copies of stuff that's only available on vinyl or VHS. Hell must have frozen over, because I actually agree with Bart! ā€ˇhttps://www.youtube.com/@PurpleKnightsPodcast

Most of the "eras" are like this, he puts out an album, makes an appearance or two and that's all. The only difference is if he tours or not, last year he preferred to do those random gigs, hopefully he can tour the next album so we'd get more stuff.

His touring days are over, that ended in 2004. The 21 nights deal and 3121 deals were nothing more than going one place and staying a bit, those are not tours they are vacations. I think the ideas of Prince "coming to town" and playing shows, is a done deal "We went where our music was appreciated, and that was everywhere but the USA, we knew we had fans, but there is only so much of the world you can play at once" Magne F

It hasn't been very long, actually.
And a studio engineer was already fired for revealing work on a project at Paisley Park no more than a month ago, so I don't think Prince is just twiddling his thumbs right now. I seriously doubt he ever goes more than a few days without recording something .

Take that story to the Sade fans and see how far you get. It just seems longer cause you paid $77 for it. Or take it to the Enya fans (of which I am, but am I a loser for saying that?). A new album on average every 5 years! [Edited 2/19/10 13:43pm]
