I was encouraged to watch Graffiti Bridge again and while doing so I noticed the club scenes were reminiscent of the Paisley Park party in October. I'm curious where the "crowd" scenes were filmed in each movie; how film "extras" were chosen; and lastly, if anyone here on the Board appeared in any of Prince's films: Purple Rain, Graffiti Bridge, Under the Cherry Moon.

my next door neighbor's friend was one of the bartenders at first ave. in purple rain. she's wearing a crazy red hat.

The closest I came was having a girl in my high school graduating class bobbing her head up and down to The Time in "Purple Rain."

But ---- me and my friends did walk home every day past the St. Louis Park pet food warehouse where EVERYONE was jamming during my senior year. .

I knew a girl in a psych class I took when I was in college who was an extra in Under the Cherry Moon. She was in the scene where Prince and Tricky are sitting in the restauarant and Tricky asks Prince "are you afraid of bats?" - prince screams - and everyone runs out. I don't recall exactly how she got the part (it was so long ago) but I think she said she was in the general area where Prince was shooting and they were just asking random people if they would take on the role. I think she said she was paid like a $100.

When I was a Make Up Artist at Glamour Shots, my Manager (whose name I can't recall)...was the girl in the "Gett Off" video holding the Victrola. She asked to borrow the video to show me, and I never got it back! She told me the taping took all day, the Victrola was really heavy, and that Prince smelled delicious!

I had speaking 'roles' in both the TRC commercial and the Aladdin Vegas DVD. They weren't true roles in the sense that I had to audition for them. We had to sign release forms for the commercial but the shoots were really just off-the-cuff comments from fans.

So, after a few hours of figuring out what folks were saying\commenting on, it kinda clicked to me on what the producers were looking for. I took a couple of minutes to rehearse what I was going to say, and loe and behold, made the cut both times.

I was a "stunt feather" in the climatic scene in GB.

That's actually not bad for back then. My brother and I got similar pay -- $100 per day -- as an extra in a John Travolta film.

It was thankless. The person who played the real feather was a real prick. Plus, I never did get paid. And I caught salmonella.

BTW, I forgot I was an extra in the "Gold" video out at Paisley Park.
