Yes. 29.
In NYC, NJ, and PA/Philly. biggrin

On another thread I listed them all... I'll try to find it so I doni't have to type all that again.

I'm about 30 shows. None further east than Vegas though.
Throughout Cali of course . . . .
Seen some great aftershows (DV8) in San Francisco (3, I think; separate tours), Ruby Skye, of course, Coliseum Arena in Oakland (4 times [ 1999; Lovesexy, Hit N' Run (?),Musicology,) Cow Palace, San Jose St.(3?), HP Pavilion in San Jose (I think I've seen every show he's done there), Mountain View (twice), Arco Arena (twice), University of Nevada, Staples Center (twice), Hollywood Bowl, Mandalay Bay, Vegas,
Some club in Vegas that I can't remember the name of . . . (We came in and Prince was reclining on a couch in the middle of the room.) Fillmore, San Francisco

I may have to come back and add . . .

Wow, I'm impressed and amazed, some of you are most def Prince enthusiasts. I guess its like Prince sings in Chocolate Box "you keep tryin and tryin, cause the flavor's so fun, so many variations from the conscious of one".

I've been to one Paisley Park event and 1/5 of a concert in LA. That's all.

sad

But good times nevertheless! headbang

Purple Rain Tour - 85 (can't remember if it was at MSG or Nassau Coliseum in NY)

Lovesexy Tour - 1988 - MSG (2 shows, one at MSG in NYC and the other at Nassau Coliseum in Long Island, NY)

Musicology Tour - July 2004 (2nd & 3rd show at MSG in NYC

Nokia Club, NYC - Feb 2006 - Tamar's show - Prince played backup guitar

Nation's Night Club, in DC (March(?) 2006 - Tamar's show - Prince played backup guitar

Rio in Vegas - May 2006 at the Larry Graham and Time Performance (Prince got on stage for a few during Larry's Show)

Empire Club Vegas - May, 2006 - both nights plus both Soundchecks - got called on stage by Prince at the first show on Saturday, and danced on stage with Tamar and the Twins. Fun memories!

Bryant Park, NYC - June, 2006

Butter Night Club, NYC - June 2006

Rio at the 3121 Club -Opening Night November 2006 (?) Opening weekend - both nights; me and some other fans had our pictures taken before the show started by Prince's former asst. who asked if he could take our pictures, and just before the show started, once we were inside Club 3121. before we knew it, our pictures were flashed on all 12 giant screens, as well as other fans' pics who were lucky enough to be asked to have their pics taken by Prince's former asst. All pictures were shown on the giant screens before the show, and after the show ended on both nights.

Rio in Vegas - at the 3121 Club March, 2007 - 2 shows, On the second night, Prince handed out 3 mock maroccas to 3 fans, and I was one of them. (yay!) I also got to high-five Prince, along with other fans. Also got into the outer room, for the aftershow;not the actual room where band played on second night;only saw about 5 minutes of the aftershow.

Gansevoort Hotel in NYC- October 2008 - won a free ticket to second performance (aftershow) through the Org site, during a contest that was held in conjunction with Prince's team, where fans participated to win free tkts either the first or second performance.

I have to say that 2006 was one of the best years for me seeing Prince perform. It was fun hearing and seeing him perform "3121" in so many different ways between 2006 and 2007; and the fan participation at the shows when he sang it, while audience members displayed the 3121 hand sign, as we sang along with Prince. Fun days, fun times and the best memories.

I finally got to see him here in Portland OR in 2004 on the musicology tour. One of the best concerts I have ever been to. I had fan club tickets. This is the only cool thing I got out of joining the npgmusic club. The site shut downI think less than a year later. Nice lifetime membership.

Tora

Only two: One Nite Alone with Prince (Lakeland) and Musicology Tour (Tampa). One Nite Alone was better but more for the hardcore diehard fan. Musicolgy was better for the casual fan since he played a lot more hits, but the sound was too loud in my opinion.

Thanks for clarifying the Empire Club in May for my bday 2006. I couldn't remember exactly the name of the place. It looks like we were at that show together as well as Musicology, Nokia and two Rio shows. You must live near LA. Even though we don't know each other, it was fun sharing Prince with you.

Thanks for clarifying the Empire Club in May (it was 28th ... my bday) 2006. I couldn't remember exactly the name of the place. No problem, I remember that date the 28th because it is my parent's wedding anniversary, so not hard to remember. Also, no, I don't live in LA and never have been in LA, I actually live in NYC, and flew out to Vegas to see the Empire Club show and the Vegas shows, that I listed that took place at the Rio.

I forgot to mention that I was in Minneapolis for the 07/07/07 show at Macy's as well, and also the show the same night at the Target Center, and added that to the list along with some added/edited information. I did not get into the First Avenue Show though. Too many people trying to get in, and I was tired after the shows at Macy's and Target, so ended up going back to the hotel, and left sometime around 6am or 7am the next morning on a flight back to NYC. All those experiences left me with good memories of being at a Prince concert.

I'm just happy I was able to experience the fun of being at a Prince concert. I actually liked the shows at smaller venues, rather than a stadium crowd. You get to appreciate the artist, the music, the performance better in a smaller venue.

To answer the original question...I have to say the ultimate concerts for me were Purple Rain and Lovesexy. I was a teenager and SO into it. I loved each band equally. The D&P era to the Gold era was the other time I was really into it. The band was tight. Personally he hasn't had a band since that has the energy that he had with Revolution, SOTT/Lovesexy band, and the original NPG (with Rosie, then Morris). I could go on and on about the shows I've seen if you want to hear it??? Like premieres of new songs and such. I definitely lost interest in 1998 (enter Larry Graham). I've seen where people think that Musicology was his best tour and I have to say... HA! He was just going through the motions and putting A LOT of $$$ in the bank.

I've seen him 3 times. The 1st time I was in the lawn in ATL for the Jam of The Year Tour. Cool booklet, great show, aweful seats/view, but well worth the horrible trip & horrible company. 2nd time, Columbia, SC, I don't remember this show for the life of me, maybe b/c it was a rough part of my life but it's a faded memory. The 3rd time I saw him was in Raleigh, NC for the Musicology Tour & it was fatastic! Everything about that show was great! It's been too long & I really wish he'd do a big tour again... I would force so many people to go now. smile
