PrintablePlus, you can't really place a delay or reverb box before a distortion pedal, or a distorted channel of an amp for that matter. It's sort of odd that Prince has the delay inserted there in the middle of his chain, sandwiched between the distortions according to the diagram. Although I guess he could be simply using it for clean sounds. Usually a delay / reverb would have to be used in the FX loop of the amp.
In fact, I don't see anything there that would allow him to control the reverberation levels. It might be the case that he simply has a tech to handle those. i.e. tons of it for Purple Rain, very little for funk etc. | |

David1974 your board is sweet. Is that T-wah pedal modded?
iloveannie you may want to check out the Ernie Ball Wah. I was a Dunlop guy for a long time and I kept going thru them like water. The Ernie Ball gives you great clean "Shaft" sounds, cool "Jimi/Prince" solo type tones (when overdriven)and you still keep the thick guitar tones when being used. No thin sounds. I also use it for my keyboards when I want the "Sly/Stevie" clav sound too. It's a great pedal. | |

Thanks for that. Thanks to you too novabrkr. So is it always just one chain, or do people mess around with the setup say having distortion and delay on one chain and say blues driver and wah on aonther and then mix the outputs, or is that just daft? Lemmy, Bowie, Prince, Leonard. RIP. |

Anyway, a couple of his pedals are customised so don't be fooled into thinking they are off the shelf units. He did not mess with the settings much all the way through the aftershow however (except for obvious wah and whammy use) which makes me think that he may also have a zoom or roland unit in the background controlled by a techie.
