Another Purple Rain Tribute Album Awhile ago my local community radio station PBS fm (in Melbourne Australia) had a $1 cd sale to clear out some of their bulging library, and I picked up a punk purple rain tribute album called "Purple Pain". Today, in the same library, I found this!
It released through an indie label called Cumbersome Noir and is by a group called "the Seedy Three". you can tell it's Australian cause there are crushed up cans of Victoria Bitter down the sides with the flowers. All the versions are kind of grungy country. Amusing as a novelty record, but I don't think I'll be revisiting it very many times! Hilarious cover though, the guy is wearing 3-d glasses! Has anyone else seen/heard this? Take it - like Clarence said:

I like this kind of thing. I'm going to have to look for it. I have Purple Pain and I love it, especially the Purple Rain cover by Teddy Bears. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

thats a really old compilation from the 90s i think. i got a copy of that about 12 years ago or older. it's not punk as you would imagine, it's more 90s green day style covers. ie. bands influenced by green day, who were influenced by the clash who were the least punk sounding punk band
