These Lotus Flower and MPLSound albums are quite catchy...

...I appreciate I'm opening myself up to awful slander and verbal assault, but, ... and maybe it's because I'm doing some tedious work too (whoever thought of report writing should be made to have their eyes boiled in lemon juice - harsh, but fair)... anyway... I've got both albums on a loop at the moment... and they're really growing on me.

Am I the only one that finds 77 Beverly Park quite sinister? Dreamer is lovely and Wall of Berlin, Colonized Mind and $ are really very entertaining indeed. Boom is making me smile and 4Ever just makes me feel nostalgic for something I'm not quite sure what...

Alright, some of MPLSound is clunky and perhaps he should not have worn that Purple Trenchcoat again... you know... stayed a bit grown up... and some of the lyrics are ... well, crap... but it's quite catchy on the whole and the guitar playing is wonderful.

I feel like I need to be a member of a club that ends with the souriquet "Anonymous".... lol

i know what you mean about 77 beverly pk..it totally intrigues me for being so trippy. i feel like there's a huge chunk of the song missing, and you're bang on with 4ever. it has a nostalgic tone, reminds me of something else i cant place,
i looove bria's album too, all the way wivout skipping and the horribliest song on the lotus offering is chocolate box. that song really bothers me

I've not been brave enough to listen to a complete Bria song yet... can't quite bring myself to face it yet.

Chocolate Box is something of Gump song, that's for sure.

I'm loving No More Candy 4 U... brilliant... Horny Toad, Horny Pony, Jack U Off, Ronnie Talk To Russia channelled into 4:14 of messy nu-wave. Magic.

I was really surprised, but Elixer is great album.. boxed Only weak tracks are Home and 2Nite, the rest of that album is good. Definitely one of his better protege's albums.

I may risk it... I'll have to screw up my courage though... the snippets I've listened to haven't filled me with any hope.

That was my first reaction too, but on the second listen it grew on me.

yeahthat I really like the Bria(n) album, could've been a big hit had it have been released properly.

Well, I don't think so wink If it wasn't released with Lotusflow3r, nobody would buy it.

I just finished listening to "LotusFlow3r," also. I Love the whole record.
"77 Beverly Park," is beautiful. In my emotional opinion it feels like a 16th Century "Shakespearean Love," cool

I tried to prove a point to my 15yr old son, that if "MPLSound" was released as it is by someone like, say Justin Timberlake, it would be a hit. He disagreed.

The only thing we agreed on was the fact that Prince sounds like a wannabe, lyric wise.

And we both really dig "Valentina".

Shakespearean Love...! Fantastic... I just hear a really dark, quite forboding tone in that song (77 Bev Pk)... the guitar opening and breathing, the flamenco that follows feels like a charade, a sense that, superficially, everything is alright, but when you scratch under the surface the truth is lurking. A very nasty song... to my mind.

I also agree, to an extent, about the comment re someone other than Prince. I sometimes get the feeling that this is very true and that Prince's baggage/aura/reputation means that even decent music is given a pass because it's not another Lovesexy.
