that's a good example of what I'm talking about. I'm not familiar with U Make My Sunshine, but everybody was excited when he came out with In2 the Joy Fantastic and some collabs which should have been cool, like So Far, So Pleased with Gwen Stephani. Listening to it was like, hmmm What exactly did Gwen do on this song? All I hear is Prince.

I'm not sure any other "collaborator" would wipe her out of the mix 100%, but with Prince it doesn't surprise anybody.

While resisting the urge to correct your typing (it's hard, like a drug fix), I will respond to those things you posed here.

1) Go listen to "U Make My Sun Shine", so you can hear and be able to speak about it down the line. It's a good song, and a great true duet between Angie and Prince.

2) "U Make My Sun Shine" isn't associated with either Rave albums. You grouped both in the same sentence, so I can only surmise that you might have thought one was associated with the other. "UMMSS" was released 2 years after the albums.

3) Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic had duets with Sheryl Crow, Gwen Stefani, Chuck D., Maceo Parker, and Ani Defranco. You can hear Gwen sing on "So Far, So Pleased". Sheryl sang background and played harmonica (doing the latter in one take if I'm not mistaken, maybe two tops). Chuck D. rapped. Ani played guitar.

4) It seems that some of the duets were singled down just Prince for Rave In2 The Joy Fantastic.

And the reason they would look good together is that they are both middle aged petite light skinndededed folks? Ok, that makes sense.
confused

Morris Day has freckles just like Sade. Prince only has a mole. Maybe they could make it a three some with everyone doing sumthing. lol Morris on the dance floor, bananadance Sade smooth on mic sexy and Prince doing all the above and then some guitar whistle headbang bananadance biggrin falloff

A musical collaboration in which Sade wrote the lyrics to P's music would work just fine. Other than that, they both need to do what they do...separately.

It would be recorded at Paisley and Prince would most likely write it and produce it and all that nonsense because the world takes it for granted that he's the very best at all that. But since he actually sucks at it, the song would sadly just be unlistenable garbage.

It would sound like Bria's album, and we all know how great that is. rolleyes

Bria's album has good music on it. Sade's voice would bring something more to it.

Did I screw up my typing/English? I'd be embarrassed by that.

If I mess up the Princebonics I couldn't care less. He's a grown man and his special little fairy language died to me like 20 years ago.

Oh, and you made a mistake with 'wrapped'. Just sayin

If we were talkin' about the GROUP Sade working with Prince and not being too scurred to do so, lol, they could do some serious damage. Matthewman and Prince co-producing? bananas...

somehow I think it'd end up like No Doubt 'working with' Prince. If it came out kind of like U Make My Sunshine with a smooth Sade vocal, that'd be a smashing success compared to what I actually think it'd sound like, lol.

I know, right? But Gwen is a total Prince devotee, so it's not as though she would call him on it and say 'hey, what about my vocals?' Sad too, that's the one that would've clicked, even with her almost drowned out, if they'd done a kick ass video and TRL. Also, check out No Doubt's "Waiting Room" for something that didn't quite work. U Make My Sunshine is the song with Angie Stone, which I still think is a pretty cool song.

I have to say that Sade's new album incredibly BORING.

There are so many lyrical cliche's that its pathetic. It drones on and on with predictable arrangements on song subjects that are so over-done that its really sad.

I hope she can sort something out with Mr Prince.

I hope its better than Bria Valente's album - which although "nice" has already disappeared into obscurity.

I thought I read something about this (here on the org or somewhere) that in the 80's he approched her and she declined because of the type of image he had at the time.

It would b an interesting duet indeed.
