My father found some Prince VHS tapes at his job and he brought them home because he knows i'm a fanatic, The two tapes are 'The Hits Collection' and '3 Chains o' Gold. I'm watching the hits one and i'm seeing these videos that date back 30 years and it made me wonder about all the numerous Prince videos, cd's and concerts that people have and cherish. So my question is, if you had to live on a desert island for 10 years and could only bring one Prince item with you what would it be? It can be anything, a dvd, tape, cd or even a poster.

P.S. For the sake of this argument, there is a working entertainment system already on the island so you can play whatever you choose to bring.

i'd take UTCM movie. i could play it nightly and would laugh every time at the funny bits

10" white vinyl of 'Mountains' b/w 'Alexa De Paris' or 'Girls and Boys' vinyl picture disc...Or the 'Purple Rain' single shaped vinly picture disc. It would be a tuff choice! Think i might need multiple desert islands

I've always loved the larger label on the 12" of "I Would Die 4 U" and "Another Lonely CHristmas". I also love the Prince poster where he's holding his black cloud guitar, and is doing that finger thing he does.

I also love my Emancipation mobile. My album, 12" single, and 7" single of "Purple Rain", and the 7" of "When Doves Cry" - ALL on purple vinyl.

I finally scored a Controversy album w/ the poster inside, mint condition, recently. It was about $15 and worth every penny.

That was on a sleeve within SOTT, and it always reminds me of peace and intelligence, and creative genious... and Adore.

Yep... that might actually be my favorite pic of P, all-time.

That... and the pic of Prince on the Crucial album cover that I have, where he's very pensive, and wearing red, with candles near.

Love that pic. He's not all effeminite, and looks quite cerebral and gifted. Those are the pics I prefer

But back on subject... my favorie piece of Prince memorabilia is the Crucial album... Prince with Miles Davis and Friends. It's my prized possession.

I have a full sized standee from Purple Rain - I think I paid $75 for it from some used record store in LA. It is a great conversation piece.

I have a white cloud guitar that I ordered from 1800NEWFUNK. I like that

I have a Watchtower magazine that Prince handed to me during the first Musicology show in Philly.

I have a guitar pick that he used during on of the Tamar gigs in DC.

Just a few of my favs - I have been collecting since 1981

I would bring my blue Cloud guitar. I'd use it as a paddle for my coconut raft to get the fuck off that island.

My best memorabilia is the empty Twix box Dr Fink gave me in 1988. I found it when cleaning out in my parents' house a year or two ago between some old Prince LPs, and nearly threw it away before remembering where it came from, ha-ha

I have one Prince Poster on my wall, and thats it, our unit is too small for ashrine. Also you can't buy anything in this dump.
