Best visual Prince Documentary?

What is your favorite Prince Documentary?

Mine was the BBC documentary? Does anyone remember what year this documentary was made? It' starts out with a show of Minneapolis and it's raining.

And then Sign of the times (I think) starts playing. If you know the name and the year please do tell. I was wondering if this was availabe commercial on DVD somewhere.

What was your favorite documentary?

the BBC Omnibus doc and the 'Prince; A musical Portrait' mini doc r the only ones worth speaking of. (xcept of course 4 the hundreds of hours of footage P had shot over the years, and never released)...

btw. omnibus was end of 1991 i think

The Omnibus documentary was broadcast on Friday 13 December 1991 at about 10pm on BBC 1 in the UK I believe. The advert used to promote this actually used unseen footage from The Parade Tour. Prince was wearing a white suit.

i actually like the Oprah thing too-except the live performances-but the chats at Paisley were great

It's not commerciallly available, but I have the fan made dvd with the BBC Documentary (which is essentially the 'Prince of Paisley Park' doc, but slightly different footage) and the Albert Magnoli produced 10 minute Prince Rogers Nelson documentary with some excellent aftershow and rehearsal footage from Lovesexy tour, as well as fan interviews and interviews with Eric Clapton, George Clinton,Terrance Trent Darby, and Miles Davis. One of my favorite fan made boot dvds!

That is the exact moment at which I thought to myself, "I have obsessed over this fool for all these years"? I just wish he would have kept his mouth shut. I mean with things like, "I've been in therapy and there is another person living inside of me...and it's a female". I mean...WTF? eek

I believe the BBC documentary might have been prior about 1987-88 as it had the rehearsels to Lovesexy and you can see them building the Thunderbird...I could be wrong as it's been so long since I last saw and yes the BBC should put it up on their iPlayer service for all to view!
