Does anyone likes Prince's style of dancing? I kinda of like his style of dancing.
It's strange, but enjoyable and you know some of the moves he does only he can get away with it.Anybody eles would look like their having a epileptic fit or just look plain retarded!

His style changed a bit just like his outfit themes... Actually, even within the movie Sign O The Times, he changes how he dances song to song...
I think his most slick time was in the late 80's around Batman/Graffiti Bridge... fastest most precise moves. My art book: http://www.lulu.com/spotl...ecomicskid

I used to love the way Prince danced. I thought he was better than Michael, that his moves were amazing, all of that. But now when I watch a lot of those old performances--especially the really frenetic D&P-era stuff--I find some of his dance moves too distracting.

I've always loved his dance moves, he makes everything look effortless and not over-choreographed, like everything else he *owns* his dance moves I don't miss it all particularly though, don't think he needs it anymore because his concerts are more focused and 'non-showy' and I can always watch SOTT anyway if I miss those moves too much

I like it.
It's energetic and effective, very lively. P is definitely a good mover. Those splits were incredible! I agree about late 80s being his best dance era. I love his dancing in SOTT and the "Alphabet Street" video a lot. How can I stand 2 stay where I am? / Poor butterfly who don't understand.

Especially when he's moving smooth and slow, all up close

Best dancing period is 1998-now for me. Nothing ott and all slick. Musicology tour and o2 are some of his sharpest, slickest moves. His hip action on that No Diggity video on youtube is madness! This Post is produced, arranged, composed and performed by WetDream

his dance moves are raw, sexual, smooth and aggressive...
he got a few quick 6-step moves that are realy cool. the double/triple reverse spins on one foot.. the james brown-esque mic stand tricks not to mention dude reinvented the split... and 2 tell u the truth... i get away with doing all the above whenever i get down. my dance style is heavily influenced by the purple one. the best dance era to me has to be purple rain... he was just sooo RAW

I think his dance style is ecclectic.
As he's gotten older, he obviously does less, but I've enjoyed every "dance" era beginning with 1999. Even his wacky "brush the teeth" dance move is essentially Prince. I think my favorite Prince dance style/performance however, was his Hot Thing performance on SOTT. For some reason, that just stood out. Maybe it was the outfit, but the moves were pretty spectacular and appealing. His worst? Well let's see... that would have to be when he got up onto the stage with James Brown and Michael Jackson and pretty much embarrassed himself with pelvic trusts, stripping down, and essentially falling off the stage after jumping onto a lantern. Not a good moment! lol The public is squeezin' you kiddo. You'd better kick ass on your next album or else!

He keeps changing his style (or should I say 'kept' changing his style) of dance according to album and song.
He's far more versatile than MJ was in my opinion, but what set Prince apart was that Prince seemed to move to the music in a very sexy way--it was never disturbing crotch grabbing or cartoonish looking (for the most part).

The SoTT Hot Thing dancing was too out there and not in a good way. As i said i think, today he's hip, slick and cool. This Post is produced, arranged, composed and performed by WetDream

His dancing gives me goosebumps, it's been electric at times and the moves just pour from his soul. The handspeed when he's on his back during SOTT Housequake is incredible.
The general public don't realise quite what his legacy is in terms of musical breadth, musicianship and creating a spectacle through dance. I thought in '93 that his outlandish dancing days were behind him when I saw him live that year, but then he brought it big time on the Oprah show a few years later and even up until the Rave era he was doing the splits as you see above, though I suspect he was trying to just prove a point! At 50+ those moves have gone, to be replaced with effortless cool. That's the best we could ever have hoped for. "I'm much too hot to be cool"
