Seriously guys this is pissing me off. A bunch of people are asking me if it's real. I don't like the thought of there being people out there that think this is really Prince when it is not.

My advice - let's all report the account:

impersonation@twitter.com - email them and let them know.

I've emailed them but I don't know if it'll do much good, apparently they need to hear from the person being impersonated or an authorized representative.

I've got in touch with Anthony Malzone, hopefully he will be able to sort it out.

I found it interesting that whoever is posting there mentions that he is waiting for Twitter to verify this account. Obviously if it's not Prince that won't happen.
The writing style doesn't look Prince-like enough for me to believe it's really him. If it really is Prince, which I doubt, he should maybe post a link to a new track (or a sample of a new track, maybe even something from the vault), or just something to prove he's the real deal.

I can MAYBE understand the more casual (and gullible) fan thinking this Twitter account is actually Prince.

But-- COME ON! Anybody with barely functional critical thinking skills and an ounce of sense..AND who is a longtime fan familiar with how Prince is and does things..there is no way such a person could buy this Twitter as being Prince.

As evidence, tweets (geez I hate that dumb word ) such as:

"I NEED MY FANS SUPPORT!!! #PRINCE IS NOW ON TWITTER SPREAD THE WORD!! RT FOLLOW @PRINCE_OFFICIAL"
This is posted every few tweets. Prince wouldn't 'grovel' that way and ASK for 'fans support' like that!

Would Prince really retweet this? He who no longer condones swearing? Really?

Whomever is trying (badly) to impersonate Prince is waaay overusing the "love you all" and "guys". Somehow, as loving as Prince may be, I don't see him constantly saying "Love you, guys!" all the time to people in real life OR on the internet. (btw, sometimes this impersonator remembers to use "u" instead of "you", sometimes not. Step up your game, impersonator, you're dropping the ball)

Lastly, while clearly a typo, this tweet is hilarious..

Oh, and regarding the bio section:
"Prince Rogers Nelson (born June 7, 1958) American singer, songwriter, musician and actor"

Yeah, Prince would use, as his bio, a list of boring factoids, including his birthdate, a date which he doesn't even recognize in his real life.

I notice too that prince.org is no longer listed as this account's homepage. Guess they read that that was a dumb move and only took away from their credibility as being Prince (as if there isn't already enough evidence that does that)
