2 bloody great pop songs.
As zaza said RB 12" is so funky...but so is the LRC 12" hmmm...im undecided they are both classics. Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!

both good songs but in terms of classic songs for all time they both are about sex but corvette is more of a darker kind of sex ... beret is just a perfect memory of the first innocent time ... it is so natural and pure ... corvette is lustful and confused and tortured so beret wins on energy ... pure energy lyrical energy positive innocent .. corvette is a car .. raspberry is a fruit of god just such a huge contrast in where the song is coming from ... the kind u find in a second hand store ... again corvette is this false dream .. the hottest car ... money fast times ... illusion ... second hand store implies a beautiful moment of discovery that money cant buy ... only that unique set of circumstances that brings this opportunity to the fold ... beret is all magical sex in a good way corvette is all superficial empty sex sadness | |

No fair!!! LRC is a classic, sounds as good today on radio as it does when it was released.Even non-fans cant say bad things about this masterpiece. RB made me the Prince fan i am today, i got hooked during the PR time, but RB reeled me in.... im so glad that Prince gave us both of those songs, and didnt hide them in his vault, for select fans to hear. seems that i was busy doing something close to nothing, but different than the day before  | |

Both good songs. Great even. I could live without either though. There were better songs on those albums.
