Prince on a Comic Cover

Hi all.

For those who are interested here is a link to the picture that Brian Bolland painted in 1991 for a Prince comic book cover. As he says, Prince bought it from him and paid him quite nicely for it. Anyway, here's the link:

If you're also interested in how the picture works as a piece of art, then read on further down the page. smile

I don't know, I've never opened it. It's sealed up. I thought maybe it would be worth something someday.

I had that comic, but I sold it a couple years ago.

The cover is cheesy, but it's actually a pretty good likeness and composition.

I think that one is 3 Chains O' Gold, which is more about Mayte.

I have this comic book, the 3 Chains of Gold comic book and one that was a "history" comic on how Prince rose into fame in the late 1970s & 1980s. The third "history" comic was also a double comic that featured George Clinton.

As mentioned that was "Three Chains of Gold". This one tells the tale of thereturn of evil Gemini, who is Prince's musical enemy, as he tries to incite a riot through his music, but Prince saves the day, as well as some girl who is about to have a prince shaped stage prop dropped on her, before playing some uplifting music that shatters Gemini's spell.

Harmless comic FUN! biggrin
