Doesn't Easy CD Creator 5 allow you to transfer vinyl and cassette recordings to the hard drive of your computer? You may just need to buy the software to be able to do it yourself. Might be fun!

I downloaded alot of these from NAPSTER when it was in it's prime. Ah... those were the days.

Then... I lost the CD I burnt them 2.

Prince would probably call that justice.

If this isn't the blind leading the blind I don't know what is. I too am a techno-dunce but I did learn something from Roxio's website. Check out this link and scroll down to system requirements www.roxio.com/en/products...ures.jhtml. It sounds as if all you need is a line level output from your receiver to connect to your computer. Which of course means your computer has to have a line level input jack.

ANOTHER OLD LADY FLASH BACK Remember back in the day the DELIGHT of getting the next single on 12"?! I've talked to alot of my friends about this who are faNs, and we all say the same thing!! IT WAS THE B-SIDE THAT BLEW YOUR MIND

AHHH...not eating lunch for a week, saving the money and going to the store after school to buy the single, taking it home, closing the bedroom door, opening the plastic with a pen (cause your nail just wasn't working...OR fast enough), flipping to the B-side, putting the needle down and saying...
"DAMN!!!" Then, if you had enough...you made a mix tape to take to school, listen to it on your walk-man in class and have everyone lean over and whisper..."hey...what are you listening to?" smile

Ahhh yes. "The Good Old Dayz"

I was actually thinking of doing an alternate version of Lovesexy 4 my girlfriend (her fav album) with the alternate versions of Alphabet St, Glamslam and Eye Wish U Heaven + ONA Live version of Anna Stesia.

Does any1 know of any other alternates 4 Eye No, Dance On, Lovesexy, When 2 R In Love and Positivity???

Eye No - the origins for this song, known as 'The Ball' from 1986, are circulating.

There are also alternate unreleased outtakes of I Wish U Heaven and Positivity circulating, as well as an unreleased remixes of Eye No and Alphabet Street.

The alternate version of Positivity includes another rap by Cat and a slightly longer ending.

And I always thought "Scandalous" was the alternate version of "when 2 R In Love." smile (They sound pretty similar to me, is what I'm trying to say!)

How did you convert them?

1. Own a Mac. smile
2. Buy a little device called an iMic by Griffin Technology. $30 or so. Has a standard RCA mic jack on one side, then connects to a USB port for direct audio in.
3. Use any sound editing software (I used SoundStudio Pro), select the iMic as your input device, connect the RCA jack into your turntable or cassette deck, play the source music, hit "record" in the sound editing software.
4. Edit the digital audio you just recorded. Typically you have to amplify the music to get it to the right sound level, reduce pops and hisses from LPs, etc. It's all pretty automated in SoundStudio Pro, though.

I used the same technique to convert the Leno performance in Dec. (and other TV appearances) to MP3s.

I assume the procedure on an IBM-PC would be similar, but I haven't done it that way.

Premium have been real busy and they've practically committed all existing 12" and extended versions of Prince and associated artists (including the likes of Kenny Rogers, lol!) onto CD.

A word of caution, however: Vol. 1 is peppered with glitches and pock-marks throughout. I contacted Premium and their response was : "nothing special since the master is like that" which is a load of bollocks (Premium are a French bootleg label), so I don't believe it's not worth getting that particular one...

Good luck.

What, what, WHAT?!?! No "Sexy Dancer" 12" on that list???

On the tape I had made recently the 12" version begins with some guy talking with what sounds like a British accent. The snippet sounds like the conversation is taking place in a recording studio.

Is this on anyone else's 12" version?

Hi...Just finished doing all mine with Nero 5. Hooked up my stereo to the back of my computer into a new soundcard I had to buy.

The whole collection has taken 7 discs...its a pain in the ass and takes a while, but being able to adjust the sound to CD quality and take out and jumps ect is brilliant.

Send me a mesage if u want to know more.

eek)
