Purple Music - Where did this come from?

I just stumbled across a recording of Purple Music. I had heard it a LONG time ago as a part of Piano Jam... but this is the first time I had ever heard this actual recording.

It's obvious that it's from the Purple Rain era... or maybe late in the 1999 era.

Anyone know where the recording came from? B-side? Studio outtake? I never knew it to be a b-side, but it would have been amazing as a b-side release.
