I just listened to the Rotterdam Nighttown recording (nov 3rd 2002) when another more than excellent performance popped up:

From the top of my head: Has Prince NOT played this song live in every tour (and a lot of aftershows) he's done ?

I can not think of any other song which has been played so constantly.

SO IMHO, this makes when you were mine Prince no. one fav.

Good pick. I love that song and never realized that. I remember when Prince used to play The Ride all the time. I just wish Artists wouldn't get sick of playing their songs cause the fans just wanna hear the so called "CLASSICS."

Anyway, it's a good song, I don't think it's his personal favorite though, just the song he's feelin' at the moment

Artists usually play the most recent stuff, with oldies or hits to fill the gig; of all the songs he could have picked to play on tours thereafter, again IMO, he played 'when you were mine' a lot.
